This company is not a real photo contest. The winners are determined not by quality of the photos but by popular voting (how many friends and relatives you can get to vote for your photo.) My beautiful flowered mountain photo finished 4th in my semi-final group. The winner’s photo was of a messy house yard with half-dead plants, an open garage door showing the mess inside and a dog partially visible . What a joke! I wonder if the monetary contributions for buying extra votes actually goes where they claim it does.

I would not recommend this competition to photographers looking for a contest based primarily on photographic merit. I entered believing the quality of the photograph would be the main factor, but after participating I realized advancement depends heavily on public voting, promotion and your ability to rally supporters. Seeing the final placements made that especially apparent to me. I have no problem with fundraising for good causes, but I wish the distinction between a photography competition and a popularity/fundraising-style voting competition had been clearer from the beginning. I would rather enter a juried competition where photographs are evaluated on composition, lighting, creativity and technical quality.I would not recommend this competition to photographers looking for a contest based primarily on photographic merit. They are not looking for talent and I don't believe they really appreciate the people who love what they do and that is photography. If you can buy votes to win. They are not looking for talent. So I think it is exploitation.

I posted a unique photo of a seagull snatching a cracker from my girlfriend's hand while in flight on the beach, but since I’m not rich, it was quickly overshadowed by a photo of some tree leaves that wasn't even in focus. What a joke!

I went into this competition for fun, I had a great photo taken with a cellphone in astronomy mode of the milky way. It has even been in a magazine. Finished the first couple rounds in 1st place, then had noticed people are paying for there photos to place higher to win! That is absolutely NOT a photo competition! Double vote day ok fine no problem but paying for votes is for people who KNOW they cant win! The worst part is seeing absolutely phenomenal photos last and horrible out of focus photos in first place! What really set it off was the final round watching probably the worst photo I've ever seen called "sky hand" go from 98th to 1st place . At that point I stopped asking for votes and stopped even looking. All the reviews on here are absolutely on point for americas favorite photos!!! It honestly hurt my soul seeing such amazing photos at the bottom and awful photos in the top 5. This contest is not about photography and beautiful photos its a all out bidding war especially at the last two rounds! A true photographer isn't going to pay for votes to win, a true photographer is going to let there photo do the talking. But no matter how amazing your photo is, it definitely cannot compete against money...........

I wouldn't even give it a rating if I didn't have to. website should be shut down. it's nothing but a money grab. people submit awful pictures and then pay for votes. 90% of these submitted pictures would be thrown in trash in a real photo contest. what a joke!

"This America’s Favorite Photos scam needs to be exposed. It's disgusting how they take money from so many people and turned the system into a rigged auction. Most accounts are bots. The winners are listed on their site, but you can't find them anywhere else. I found the Facebook admin - no real identity, no profile photo, zero posts. They claim donations go to charities. I emailed every charity they listed and I'm waiting for replies. Please email these organizations too and ask: 'Did you receive donations from them? They're using your logo.' Many companies are strict about logo use and fundraising in their name. How does a supposedly famous photo contest have only 1-2 comments on Facebook/Instagram - and they're all their own? We need to act before more people get hurt. Posting here isn't enough - email the authorities that matter. I made it to the semi-finals in first place. After that, nothing. I can't find a single winner anywhere. I checked 30-40 names - no trace online. The names and photos are likely fake. They built a perfect scam system."
