I do NOT recommend American Web Coders to design and create a website for you. They are a dishonest company full of lies! I have been working with them the past 7 weeks and still I can't get simple issues fixed that should take a "so called" professional company like them only a couple minutes of there time to fix. This was supposed to be a 3 week project but now its already carrying into week 8. My Project Manager (S**** Morris) and Project Head (D**** Jones) were helpful the first 2-3 weeks but after the 3 weeks were up it looks like they took on different projects and didn't have time for me anymore even if my web design wasn't even half finished yet! Getting a hold of ***** Jones was like trying to get hold of a dead man...it simply wasn't possible. But the first three weeks when they "bated" me into giving them more money, D**** Jones was very eager to help because he saw dollar signs. This was promised to me that it wouldn't cost more than $370 USD but shortly after my first payment (after they lured me in and already having $350 of my money, which they knew I was never ever gonna get back no matter how hard I tried) I had to spend another $350 USD on hosting (which was never ever mentioned in the phone call with the sales guy that lured me into buying this package). And another $350 USD on various plugins and content which was never mentioned before either. So I started off with a $350 budget but it quickly escalated well above that. NOT OKAY TO PLAIN OUT LIE TO CUSTOMERS ABOUT THE PRICE! Describing something to S**** Morris over the phone, on text and on email was a pain in itself because I had to explain everything 10 times before she finally got what I meant. Took up a very large amount of my time which I am never gonna get back. I could go on and on with this but you get my drift...NO, I WOULD NEVER EVER HIRE AMERICAN WEB CODERS TO DESIGN A WEB SITE FOR ME AGAIN! You will do yourself a huge favour if you stay far away from these people...

This company is a complete scam. I hired them to host my website and had nothing but problems. The account manager they assigned to me was ill-informed, my website kept crashing and they tried to scam me by insisting I needed to pay hundreds of dollars more for their services to work. After a week, I canceled with them, now I have spent months fighting them to get my money back. Updated in January 2023. I tried to file a complaint with the California Secretary of State and learned American Web Coders is not registered in the state of California as they claim to be. Nor are they registered in the city or county of Los Angeles. And their claim that they only charge for "services provided" is a lie. I pre-paid for 12 months of hosting but canceled after 30 days and received no refund.

Working with American Webcoders started out awesome - friendly team, dedicated to your mission and there to help. After working with a sales rep to get partnered up with my project manager, things seemed to be going well. I was content with my design I had been offered and ready to bring the page alive. It was at this time that I was told I would need to invest at least $800 to provide the storage for all my content for 3 years. I was setting up a music blog that sourced music and links from Spotify and YouTube but was told I would need the files directly on my page to make the user experience on the platform optimal. Although I told them I was OK with some lag in the audio they were not because it "reflected on their work and portfolio." I connected with my cousin who works in tech and he was able to set me up with storage through Digital Ocean that would scale as I added additional content to the page (as of date I currently pay $12 a month for the storage I have on my site.) My cousin provided me a link to the storage that American Webcoders could embed in the site and work effectively. After providing American Webcoders that link, that next day I received a call from a higher up manager telling me that they were going to need to put together a team of people because of my content size and that the whole thing would conveniently cost another $800. This is when I started to become wary of the company and their intentions. As someone who was unemployed at the time, I was very clear that I could not afford to spend additional money after the initial investment. They kept pushing back saying this was necessary and that they needed the funds to move forward. Unfortunately, I was not able to provide them with the additional funds but the manager said he would be able to provide a refund on the services that equaled about 1/3 of the total project's initial investment. This was back in June. Now it's seven months later and after several missed dates for when the refund was "supposed" to hit my account, I can't get my project manager or his manager or American Webcoders to respond to my calls or e-mails. However, they did respond when I called from a different number. But, when I finally was able to get a hold of the manager in December 2021, he promised me a full refund and sent "proof" that the refund was coming back into my account in 10-15 days. Guess what - it's been over (30) and of course still no refund and of course no answer from the project manager or his manager. The whole experience post set-up has been drawn out, unnecessary and frustrating. Currently just looking to get back a refund for a website that was never built but can't get anyone to even respond to me. I wish I would've listened to my gut from the beginning and not gone with American Webcoders for my website design needs and would absolutely, 100% never, ever recommend this company to anyone as this has been the worst customer experience of my life. I'm convinced this is 100% a scam. Save your money and go to literally anyone else for your web design needs.

At first this company seemed like a hidden gem. I told them exactly what I needed and they said they could do it. I paid them and then they said they couldn’t the job.I said it’s ok, give me a refund then. They said no. They not only kept my money but they didn’t even do anything to our website. I lost the bank battle, didn’t get a refund and nothing done on my website. Unless you want to waste money, I suggest finding real company

(4-21-21 Update provided below from this initial 4-5-21 review) 4/5/21 Its hard to know where to begin. I wanted an affiliate website built in WordPress, which they said they could do. I provided a PowerPoint & Word documet how I wanted the website to be designed, hoping that since I'm not a web designer they would make it look better. I also gave them example sites to review so they knew not just the look and feel but also the way I would like to have visitors navigate through the site. They would come back with disigns not even close to what I was asking for, evne when I provided them a layout of what I was thinking. After mulitiple discussions and sending more corrections I was fed up and wanted my money back since they provide a 100% money back guarantee. Well, even after speaking to management they would not refund my money , said I was not qualified to get my money back. They are not doing what I ask, its been TWO MONTHS and it should have been completed by now and they keep coming up with delays of what they're developers can and can't do. Its NOT a difficult site, no eCommerce, just an affiliate site that ranks and reviews products. They have no contacts other than the people that I spoke with so I don't even know who the president is, nor does this company even have their own Facebook page to be able to post any information or ratings on their Facebook site. I'm just ONE GUY, trying to put together an affiliate site like so many that are out there and they can't even do this, nor make the corrections I ask for that are based on simple disign concepts. I know they have top ratings, but seriously, it would be nice to be able to go up the food chain to rattle a cage to get thigns the way they need to be. Can't even find out who the president is of this company. WORST experience in the world, but have to suffer through it since they won't get my money back, and I found other developers who could do exactly what I'm asking for in half the time. Today is April 21st, original review was April 5. That review was done April 5th. After being told I was not eligible for the 100% Money back gaurantee, I was persuaded to continue the project, promising me they would delivery what I asked for. A simple web design for a new affiliate marketing site. Instructions continued to be ignored, and when I would go to see the updated site, I would sometimes see that instructions were ignored, other times work was done that I didn't ask for. The only request I made that could have been tricky was asking to have a content element anchored so that while the user is scrolling the page, that content stays in view. I've seen it on other websites and was told that this was something taht they could do. Two moths, three weeks later, I'm finally told it can't be done, or THEY can't do it. Other design elements looked like they were done by 6th graders and the time between my repeated requests was so long I was wondering if they were working at all, and when I finally saw what they said they were working on, nothing changed! If I had a customer that communicated such disappointment I too would want to make it better. Unfortunately I just got more aggrivated, especially when I know what I asked for could be done, and done a lot faster after consulting other firms of these issues. I know they have some good reviews, but I can't say this was a good experience at all. It would have been smarter to provide me a refund as their contact says is "100% Money Back Gaurantee"--which is a lie because they refused to provide me a refund after well documented areas of frustration of not haveing instructions followed, than to have this review left. I'd rather warn people, especially individuals who don't have deep pockets and can afford the loss. I can't afford the loss, but I couldn't put up with the aggrivations any longer.
