Service department zero integrity
I will never spend another dime at American Sale. After years of being a customer, I had an ongoing leak in my spa that resulted in multiple service visits, repeated charges, and ultimately a disputed $420 diagnostic bill for a problem that was never actually resolved. Their technician could not identify an active leak during the final visit, yet when I was physically able to check the spa again after recovering from unexpected emergency surgery, it was still losing water. Instead of standing behind their service, American Sale’s position was essentially that the technician spent the time, so the charge was valid—even though the underlying issue remained unresolved and they wanted me to pay again for another diagnosis. That was not the only issue. During service, spa water was discharged into my backyard after I specifically asked that it be directed toward the front of the property. The flooding damaged my grass and landscaping. I also had numerous scratches appear on the spa shell after a replacement cover was installed, which later had to be sanded and buffed out. I filed a BBB complaint hoping American Sale would take some accountability. They repeatedly rejected my request for the $420 refund, continued to dismiss or minimize my concerns, and the BBB ultimately closed the complaint without resolution. I understand that an older spa can require repairs. What I do not accept is repeatedly paying a company to diagnose and repair the same problem, having property damaged in the process, and then being told to spend even more money with them when the problem still exists. After this experience, I have completely lost confidence in American Sale’s service department. I will take my business elsewhere and strongly recommend that others carefully consider their service practices before authorizing expensive diagnostic work.
