I own the Alorair Sentinel HD55S dehumidifier, purchased new in June, 2023. The purchase cost of this product is significantly higher than run of the mill residential dehumidifiers but, having repeatedly experienced short lifespan of the non-commercial brands, I chose to buy what was purported to be a heavy duty long life commercial grade dehumidifier. Unfortunately it is not such a product. The dehumidifier failed recently under warranty. I reached out to Alorair customer service for help. Three detailed emails were submitted with no response. I telephoned customer service, entered the expected “we are busy with other customers” automated phone system and after waiting 18 minutes received a recording to call back at some other time and the call ended. With some difficulty I found the Alorair parts webpage and, based on my own diagnosis, purchased new capacitors and the main electronic control board. After I replacing components, the dehumidifier is working properly again. Inspection of the old control board found signs of electric arching as made evident by burned relay plug wires and melted voltage transformer. In operation the dehumidifier is on a surge and GFIC protected circuit, and has not been subjected to external conditions which might cause the control board failure. One month after my first email to customer service I received reply wherein the customer service representative asked me to submit assorted details which had previously been submitted with my three prior unanswered emails. I have made the company aware of the described concerning evidence of control board failure due to electrical overload and received no response whatsoever to the information provided. I am concerned the Alorair Sentinel HD55S dehumidifier is manufactured with low quality electrically unsafe components. Longevity of device function does not represent heavy duty commercial grade. Cost of the device far exceeds durability.

@Alorair. The advertised 30-day return policy is a scam. I have contacted customer service twice regarding a return, and on both occasions I was told that a return shipping label would be emailed to me. It has now been almost two weeks, and I still have not received the email or the return label.

Awful support. They want you to jump through endless hoops before offering a shred of help. I had to spend 20 minutes on hold, multiple emails, and finally was able to get someone to respond by online chat. Then they want you to spend your own time troubleshooting, completing testing that would take hours, and documenting every step you took by picture; only then will they send you parts or a replacement unit. If the unit never breaks, fine. If you have to use your warranty, forget about it. I will never buy this brand again, period.

I can't reach anyone, I'm not sure that anyone is answering that phone, no tracking number for 2 days and counting. Pass on them

Unit (HD55) when working, was great. Unit quit working after a month. Customer service is non existent. I’ve reached out via email, phone, even Facebook messenger. Cannot get a hold of anyone. Wasted my money on what I thought was a good unit.

My crawl space dehumidifier failed after 18 months. My HVAC maintenance company, who sells and services Alorair, diagnosed as leaking refrigerant from the coil assembly. Because I bought the unit directly from Alorair, Alorair would only deal with me directly. Their customer service department jerked me around for 3 weeks, saying they had escalated my claim to their engineering team, but not helping after repeated calls and emails. The warranty is a scam. Do not buy from this company.

The warranty is useless. I've had 2 units fail in 3 years and the first time I paid $200 to get a new unit with NO WARRANTY rather than pay the $300 for shipping. Now this one is bad and they will not do anything about it. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. Customer service is abysmal to say the least

Company said unit was wifi and remote controlled. Paid over $700 and machine didn't work that way. Company said they had trouble with the app and was developing a new one. They stalled and stalled. When the new one didn't work they said they would send me a new control panel and sent me a video how to install it. They never sent the part. When I again called for a tracking number, they told me I needed to pay them another $100 for the part. I refused and told them that I wasn't going to give more money in the hopes it works this time. I told them I wanted my money back. They told me the 30 day return was past. They knew this from the beginning and stalled until the return time was up. Worthless machine and company!
