Life-changing, but not a magic wand – you still have to do the work
I had the Allurion balloon placed 8 months ago and I’m currently 18 kg down. It hasn’t been easy all the way through, but for me it’s been absolutely worth it. The first few days were rough – lots of nausea and cramps, and I wondered what on earth I’d done. My clinic warned me this could happen, and they checked in on me by phone twice during that week, and also had given me advice on what to eat, which helped a lot. After about day 4–5 things settled, and I suddenly realised I was getting full really quickly on much smaller portions. What the balloon really gave me was a pause button and structure: - I wasn’t constantly thinking about food. - I could actually follow the nutritionist’s advice without feeling deprived. - The regular check-ins kept me accountable when my motivation dipped. I won’t pretend it’s a miracle cure – you still have to change how you eat and move. There were weeks where the scale barely moved and I had to remind myself to stick to the plan. But overall, I’ve lost 18 kg, my blood pressure has improved, and I can walk up stairs without feeling out of breath. I’m also keeping my new habits now that the balloon has passed. If you’re expecting an effortless fix, this isn’t it. If you’re ready to put in the effort and want a strong tool and support to help you get there, then in my experience the Allurion program can be a real game-changer.

Hi Alex, Thank you for sharing such an honest and balanced experience. Your story reflects exactly what the Allurion Program is designed to be: not a magic solution, but a powerful tool that provides structure, accountability, and support to enable real change. Losing 18 kg, improving your blood pressure, and maintaining healthier habits beyond the balloon are meaningful achievements, and they speak to your commitment as much as to the program itself. We appreciate you highlighting the importance of effort and mindset, and we wish you continued success on your journey.
