I have been a long time customer of Allies of Skin and spend a lot of money with them, only to come back to order something and find my 7000 reward points and platinum status completely gone.
On top, I only found out about a recall of one of their products (which I ordered several times) here on Trustpilot. I checked for emails from them about this and I have received zero information via the company. Not a single note/banner/pop-up in my account about it either.
I once thought they value their customers giving them something in return for their purchases but it is evident to me that I was wrong. It's quite disappointing.
Response from Allies of SkinOct 23, 2026
We’re so sorry, Kunde. This isn’t how a long-time customer should feel, and thank you for telling us.
Finding that your reward points and Platinum status no longer show in your account is upsetting, and we want to understand exactly what happened.
You’re also right that you should have heard about the product recall from us directly, not on Trustpilot. We’re sorry that message didn’t reach you, and we want to find out why.
For both of these items, we will need some additional information from you please?
We’ve flagged your review for escalation to our senior customer care team. Please email [email protected] with “Escalation – Rewards & Recall” in the subject line and the email address on your account. That way we can look into your rewards history and walk you through everything about the recall for your past orders.
Your loyalty means a great deal to us, and we’d welcome the chance to put this right.

Never in my life will i buy any products from them again
Never in my life will i buy any products from this company. I purchased The One sunscreen from Nordstrom. They sent me an email about the recall. I had to empty the entire bottle if sunscreen, clip the corner, and send in photos. During the recall refund process, the first screen indicated photos of the empty needed to be taken. I took the exact photos needed that were super clear with my phone. Then i cut up the rest if the bottle and placed in the trash. When i went to the next screen and steps, there was direction that i’ll receive a text to upload photos. What was not included on the first screen is that the photos need to be uploaded using their own app. Since i already cut up the bottle, i took the photos of the photos on my phone. Directions on the second screen said you needed to keep the bottle, so I fished for all the pieces in the trash and saved them. 15 days later i get an email that the photos were not valid even though the photos were perfectly clear. I called the recall line to explain the situation. The rep indicated i need to use their app and that my cut up pieces should work. I submitted photos again using their app and the cut up pieces. I get another email that the photos are not valid. After spending nearly $40 on their product, i am now left without a product I paid for. Scam company to avoid at all costs.

Recall handled in a way that leaves international customers with no solution
**Update:** Everything has now been fully resolved. The Allies of Skin customer support team stepped in, helped me sort out the recall issue, and made sure everything was taken care of.
Thank you to the team for taking my feedback seriously and for resolving the situation. I’m happy to return my rating to **5 stars — well deserved for both the quality of the skincare and the customer support.**
I have been a regular Allies of Skin customer and have spent well over $1,000 with the brand over the past year, so this review is particularly disappointing to write.
When Allies of Skin voluntarily recalled THE ONE SPF 50 Invisible Sunscreen Gel because testing indicated it might not provide the labelled SPF protection, I actually respected the company for being transparent about it. I stopped using both affected products I own — a full-size tube and a travel size — and followed the recall instructions.
The problem is what happened afterwards.
The recall process requires an SMS link to complete the claim. Despite multiple attempts and providing a valid US phone number that receives other SMS messages normally, I have never received that link.
I contacted the recall centre repeatedly by email and explained that I am currently outside the US. I can receive SMS and communicate perfectly well by email; I simply cannot conveniently return US phone calls from abroad.
Eventually I was connected directly with the Allies of Skin Recall Manager. Instead of offering an alternative way to complete the recall, I was told that I would have to wait until both I and my device physically return to the United States.
I asked whether they could simply email me the link, tell me what proof of disposal they require, allow me to submit photographs, or even send me the name/link of the app they say is required to complete the claim.
The response to my request for the app link was:
“I cannot. You will have to wait until you and your device return to the US.”
I do not currently know when I will next be in the United States.
So the end result is quite absurd: Allies of Skin recalled products because their SPF protection may not match what was advertised, I stopped using and disposed of the affected products as instructed, and now I am left without the products and without a refund or replacement simply because I am temporarily outside the US.
What makes this especially frustrating is that this seems entirely avoidable. I am available by email. I have a working US phone number. I am willing to provide photographs, proof of purchase, proof of disposal, case details, or anything else reasonably required. I have actively tried to resolve this.
I am not criticizing Allies of Skin for issuing the recall. I actually appreciated their transparency in doing so. I am criticizing a recall process that apparently has no workable alternative for a customer who happens to be outside the United States — and the complete unwillingness to provide one.
For a premium skincare brand, and particularly as a loyal customer, I expected considerably better handling of a safety-related recall.

Liked the products, but the SPF recall remedy is not acceptable…
**Update**: I followed up as suggested. Their team confirmed the prepaid retailer card is the only remedy available, with no alternative, despite this response suggesting otherwise. Not even a small commercial gesture, such as a travel-size product, was offered.
I'd also like to remind that I used this product for many months as my only SPF, trusting it to protect me from UVA/UVB damage. Disappointing that a health and safety recall doesn't come with a proper refund option.
I've genuinely liked Allies of Skin's products and have been a happy customer. That's what makes this situation so disappointing. Allies of Skin recalled THE ONE SPF 50 sunscreen because it didn't reliably provide the SPF protection stated on the label (a genuine health and safety issue). After submitting my claim as instructed, the "refund" I received for my 4 tubes of SPF was a Global Choice Link limited to gift cards for unrelated third-party retailers I have no use for (supermarkets, dating apps, clothing stores). Not even a gift card for Allies of Skin's own products, or actual products, was offered, let alone a cash refund or a universal prepaid card option, despite Allies of Skin publicly stating elsewhere that affected customers are entitled to a full refund via electronic prepaid card.
I like the products, but the handling of this recall has been genuinely problematic. This does not feel like an adequate remedy for a safety recall.

Hello Asp,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review and for your kind words about our products. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with the options available to you for the recall remedy. You're right to flag that these are different based on country. Unfortunately we weren't able to ensure consistency across every region here.
Based on your comments above, it sounds like we might be able to help make this right. Could you please email [email protected], noting this response, and one of our team should be able to help you further.

Three recalled SPFs destroyed – required another purchase
I genuinely like several Allies of Skin products and continue to buy them despite their high prices.
Unfortunately, my experiences with their customer service have repeatedly been extremely disappointing, and the way they handled their recent SPF recall is particularly frustrating.
I had three affected tubes of THE ONE SPF 50 Invisible Sunscreen Gel — one larger tube that had been opened and two smaller tubes that were completely new and unopened.
Following Allies of Skin's recall instructions, I had to empty and physically cut all three tubes, including the two unopened ones, and submit photographic proof that they had been rendered unusable. Their recall form specifically stated that the remedy would be based on the number of affected tubes they could confirm.
My claim for all three tubes was approved.
The remedy? One 15 ml Multi Peptides & GF Advanced Lifting Serum.
I actually love this serum, so that is not the problem. What I find unacceptable is that Allies of Skin did not simply send me the remedy. I received a coupon that could ONLY be redeemed by placing another online order.
So after destroying three products because Allies of Skin recalled them, I was required to spend more money with Allies of Skin just to receive their proposed compensation.
I did eventually place an order because I genuinely needed another product and had loyalty points to use. But I should never have been required to make another purchase to receive compensation for a recall that was obviously not my fault.
I believe I originally purchased the larger SPF, while the two smaller unopened tubes were received as promotional/free products through previous purchases. Is this perhaps why my claim was treated differently? If so, I would like Allies of Skin to explain that clearly. Those products were still received through my purchases as a loyal customer, and I was required to destroy all three.
I am also seeing Allies of Skin publicly state that some customers affected by this recall are receiving refunds via electronic prepaid cards. I would therefore like to know why my three affected products resulted instead in a 15 ml gift conditional upon another purchase.
I already emailed customer service asking them to explain how this remedy was determined and expressing my dissatisfaction. I have received no response.
Sadly, this is not my first poor customer-service experience with Allies of Skin. Their products can be excellent, but repeatedly making gifts dependent on further spending is already a frustrating part of their sales strategy. Applying essentially the same mechanism to a product recall is, in my opinion, completely inappropriate.
A recall remedy should resolve the customer's loss — it should not require the customer to make another purchase!!!
Response from Allies of SkinAug 31, 2026
Hi Mirchi,
Thank you so much for flagging this to us as you’re right, this isn't the plan for the remedy in your case.
For products that have been purchased, you are entitled to receive a full-refund in the form of an electronic prepaid card for your purchase price of the sunscreen gel. This can be used anywhere that card is accepted, not just with Allies of Skin.
Only where your received our SPF The One as free gift, should you receive a replacement free gift via a coupon as you described. This remedy is issued separately from the refund card and often quicker, so potentially you have another remedy coming shortly.
Certainly, based on your description, you are entitled to a greater refund and we are committed to getting that arranged for you, or confirming that more is on the way.
We also apologize for the lack of response from our customer care team. We are looking into that too for you. We are keen to help you resolve this, but will need some extra information from you to make sure we can identify your records in our system. Please try emailing [email protected] and we will look out for your message.
Thanks again for flagging this. We appreciate your love for our products and are working hard to bringing our customer service up to the same standard.

One of my favourite retinal products
I have been using the Allies of Skin 0.1% Retinal & Peptides Advanced Repair Night Cream for quite some time, and it has become one of my favourite skincare products.
This is not my first purchase — I keep coming back to it because I really like the formula and the results. With regular use, my skin looks smoother, more even and well cared for, and I can definitely see an improvement in its overall texture.
I also appreciate that, despite the high concentration of retinal, the product works very well for my skin when introduced gradually and used correctly. The texture is pleasant, it fits easily into my evening routine, and a small amount is enough.
Overall, I am very happy with this product and will continue repurchasing it. Definitely one of the best retinal products I have tried.

Thank you so much for the kind words Mila! We're so happy you love the Retinal Night Cream.

SPF 50 recall UK
SPF 50 recall. Do Not trust this brand!
Allies of skin are recalling their Spf50 because of quality issues. I bought mine on their UK website. I have been chasing them for a refund but I have been informed that they are not prepared to do it. I had to do a lengthy registration on their recall link but no credit has been given at this time. Unbelievably bad customer service.
Response from Allies of SkinAug 26, 2026
Thank you for raising this, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience with the process. Once a registration has been submitted and approved, eligible refunds are generally issued within approximately 30 days in the form of an electronic prepaid card.
We’d like to look into your specific situation and make sure you’re getting the appropriate support. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your details so our team can assist you directly.

This is the end
I have been a loyal Allies of Skin customer for over two years, using "The One" Sunscreen Gel consistently. The recent voluntary recall of this product was a huge shock, but the way the company has handled the aftermath is even more disappointing.
A quality failure of this scale should have been caught much earlier—especially given how much the brand emphasized its lengthy development process and strict standards.
To make matters worse:
- No refunds, only store vouchers: Instead of refunding affected customers, they offer store credit—forcing people whose trust they broke to spend more money with them.
- No accountability for past purchases: Compensation only applies to unused products currently in hand, ignoring loyal customers who have been using an ineffective product for years.
- Zero response from customer service: I submitted feedback regarding this policy, and my message was completely ignored.
Trusting a brand with sun protection is a big deal. Failing on product quality is bad enough, but ignoring loyal customers and refusing proper monetary refunds is completely unacceptable.
Response from Allies of SkinAug 26, 2026
Niklas, we understand your frustration and appreciate you raising your concerns. To clarify, eligible refunds are issued via an electronic prepaid card, not a voucher or store credit, and can be used wherever the card is accepted.
We also recognize that individual circumstances can vary, including situations where a customer may no longer have the product. We understand that you have now been connected with the appropriate support team who can review the specifics of your claim and work with you toward a resolution. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can be of further assistance.
