Great experience
The company did everything well, I had the biggest issue with my job selection process and it wasn’t even that bad. They helped me as much as they could and never seemed too busy to talk with us about whatever we needed.

I think being outside of my comfort zone was the best part of this experience. This is what allowed me to grow, learn, and be individual. I absolutely adored the company I worked for and the team that makes the behind the scenes happen. I felt comfortable, was able to ask questions freely and get feed back that allowed me to learn about this industry.

I had a great experience this summer in Milan. From my internship, the friendships I made, and the advisors we had, everything was perfect. I learned so much about myself this summer through living on my own in a foreign country. It got hard at times when I was home sick but it was super easy to book a trip and get out of the funk. I learned a lot during my internship that I will be able to apply to other jobs back in America. Overall my favorite part of this experience is the relationships I made with those around me!

AIFS did an amazing job of connecting the students, keeping us informed, and being ready to help with whatever bumps in the road were faced. I made so many new friends during this experience thanks to the efforts that this program went through to helps us meet one another and stay connected throughout the internship. In addition, the internship placements are tailored to you and what you’re looking for- and it was the best job experience I have ever had. I feel so much better prepared to enter the workforce and use everything that I learned and improved on during this experience. Moving abroad is so exciting but can also be scary! AIFS did a perfect job of preparing us months before our departure, and has on-site staff to help with any problem that you could face. They made the entire experience as easy as possible so that I could focus on my internship, and discovering the world with my new friends! :)

My time as an intern in Florence through Global Experiences was transformative! I made lifelong friends, learned how to put together a professional resume and cover letter highlighting my top five strengths, gained valuable professional experience, and discovered a beautiful and historical city, all while feeling safe and supported by the AIFS team. I thoroughly enjoyed my internship as a journalist and the team I got to work with. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything and would do it 100 more times if I could!

I had the best time abroad in Florence, Italy through my internship program. I went into it not knowing anyone and met some of my closest friends now. My internship placement was great, and I ended up learning a lot from it. I also had time to travel on the weekends to many different places. Overall, it was truly one of the best experiences of my life!

I enjoyed my time in Florence! While my internship did not directly relate to what I will be pursuing in the future for my career, I still gained valuable skills. I enjoyed the social events provided and definitely felt like it was worth what I paid for. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the availability of support staff after hours. Friends and I had trouble getting in touch with them during emergency situations, but other than that I had a fabulous time and would recommend this program if you are looking for an internship abroad (probably better for people not studying psychology, social work, philosophy, and other arts, etc.)

My advisors Amanda and Antonella were so amazing and supportive. I loved living in Milan. One thing that could be improved is to let students know that their employers and co-workers will mostly speak Italian. I wish I could’ve learned more but I did not understand most of the conversations held in the office
