Hello, Thank you for your feedback. The TAJ602 is calibrated at the factory, but this balance is sensitive to 0.01 gram and the location where you are located can be affected by the local acceleration of gravity. Therefore, we suggest that it be calibrated in your location to account for the local difference in gravity. Also, the calibration lock does not need to be locked when in transport and should come to you unlocked. Only the transport lock needs to be locked for shipping. The calibration lock is used for inspection by the local department of weights and measures to lock and seal the calibration mechanism for "legal for trade" applications and therefore should come to you unlocked. You can use either a 300 gram class 3 weight or a 500 gram class 2 weight together with a 100 gram class 3 weight to calibrate the balance. Class 7 weights have a variance of 0.021 grams at 300 grams and cannot ensure accurate span calibration. Settling of 0.01 to 0.02 grams is normal and will probably settle down once the balance has warmed up for at least 1/2 an hour. Also, make sure that it is level and on a stable surface. Hi Paul, Thank you for your feedback. We refer customers to the manufacturer so that they can talk with tech support to correctly diagnose the problem with the product. Also, the warranty is covered by the manufacturer, so they need to know what is wrong with the scale before they can replace it. Many times, a quick call to the manufacturer's tech support department can resolve the issue over the phone. Regards, H&C

Hi Ty, Your order was received in the afternoon of Wednesday the 29th after our same day cutoff time of 2 pm, so it was shipped via 2 day air the very next day on Thursday. It was delivered on Monday the 3rd, which is 2 business days after the day it was shipped. Unfortunately, weekends don't count as travel days with UPS. Regards, H&C

Hi Dwayne, The 439 eye level mechanical physician scale is packed in two pieces by the manufacturer to cut down on the packaging volume to save the customer money in shipping fees. Regards, H&C Weighing Systems
