Let down
Really disappointed with my experience with Admiral Travel Insurance. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and this was the first time I ever had to make a claim after a genuine medical emergency abroad involving my wife. My wife became seriously ill in India with severe dehydration and a gastrointestinal illness, which meant hospital treatment, IV fluids, and ongoing medical care. Even though we provided medical documents, hospital records, and all the supporting evidence, I found the claims process stressful and not very helpful and admiral refuse to pay the rescheduled airline tickets which is not a huge amount anyway . What upset me most was that when we urgently tried to contact Admiral’s 24-hour emergency assistance helpline during the emergency, the line was unavailable due to technical issues for more than two days — right when we really needed support and advice. When we finally got through, the advisor just told us to send all the receipts, medical reports, and the cost of the rescheduled flights and said it would be refunded. At such a difficult time, I honestly expected much better support, communication, and understanding from a company I’d trusted for so many years. Overall, I found the experience deeply disappointing and not in keeping with the level of service I would expect from a well-established insurance provider. I hope Admiral Travel Insurance reviews both its emergency support systems and claims handling procedures to ensure that customers facing genuine emergencies receive timely assistance and appropriate care.
