I loved that everyone was represented in a thumbnail with several different screenshots, to get better idea of their appearance . Personally I dislike a face ‘matched’ in front of me to swipe. I can make my own choices based on profile but some apps worked that way. I’m in my early 50s and keep myself together. I’m told I’m very handsome. I rarely contacted people on A4A because when I made a friendly introduction it put people at a loss for words (??) and that turned me off. I wasn’t real specific about a ‘match’ except asking- whomever-they take pride in appearance even at the platonic friend level. That and be less than 50 miles away. So I was baffled by guys texting who lived thousands of miles away ( they claimed) and weird statistics attached to photos , like 6-2 and weighing 110 lbs when it was evident they could not be. Only now I realize they were bots , not able to handle anything more than someone’s pic and clueless about the national standards for what would look like death IF you really weighed that. The site progressed to ‘worse’, as if the app’s ‘society’ was crumbling the more time I spent on it. I was texted by one hustler after another…often living hundreds, thousands of miles away. One was from - I deduced- India although he never admitted and he, and others from everywhere including America, would quickly shift the conversation like we were semi- committed in a relationship. ( That one pissed me off so much I played along until he was exhausted ).If you were desperate enough, they hoped you’d hear their hard luck story leading to $, but both the scammer and myself became disillusioned before we met and I was never seen again . Just before I quit the app the scene was progressing into the Wild West, with guys with drugs, massages ( that I think was leading up to me offering to fly them in for!)and more , although they always wanted to move to chat app to speak confidentially. It stopped being amusing, especially when no one local was texting. Some people were suspended by the site before a conversation was done! In 6 weeks I was so weary of the BS that sometimes required wasting time over guys that mysteriously disappeared, to pop up 2 weeks later to finish the conversation. It’s too bad because I loved the format but that ‘house’ was built of paper. Pathetic.

This site is filled with men looking for "younger", scams, drugs, escorts, possible crime, risky behavior. Examples: JohnnyCbus is interested & attracted in "younger" Only. No age limit mentioned on how young. Pure4mee asks for your number & wants to move to iMessage app. The user assumes that you will give out your number without offering their own (one sided). Ferr_jay wanted in first message the cash app or chime account info. portofcall4u is a pictureless profile, yet asks for your picture Another user openly admitted he is in drug rehab & wanted to know if you "play" Another user said he never meets in public for anything anytime. He wants you to go to his friend's house, not his.

This site is supposed to be free. In fact it's partially free. But the quality is so low that I'm better off paying a few bucks for something worthy and reliable like AFGay.com At least I go on a real offline date every weekend via this service. I dread to think how long it would take to arrange an offline meeting with a real man on Adam4Adam. The community is horrible: I would estimate 98% of drug addicts, con artists, drama kings (or queens) who just want to play with your feelings and troll gay people. None of such profiles ever get banned, no matter if you complain to admins or not. There are either no live moderators or they just don't give a damn.

More reasonably priced than other similar sites (ie: grindr). The number of scammers is RIDICULOUS! The site does give you the option to verify (let others know you're real) and you can set your filter to only show verified members, but then there goes all the closet cases. Also, they allow members to set their location anywhere you want. Thanks for helping the scammers out!

The community is full of bots, scammers and drug addicts. If you can afford a paid service AFGay.com will definitely be a much better choice. You know what you pay for and you get what you pay for. Ok, let it be online entertainment, but it will definitely be a high quality time with a truly sexy-looking man who has the desire, knowledge and skills to make me happy. What you can get on Adam4 Adam is drama, games, negative emotions, mental discouragement and surely you can meet many scammers who are desperate to get your money.

Total waste of time and effort. All they are concerned about is money. How many adds can we shove into peoples faces and make bank on it? And the so called people that are on the site seems to be disinterested or just strait up block you once you answer the question, what do you do for a living, and they see no way to scam you out of money from that. Shallow, gold digging trash!

MAJOR SECURITY issues!!! I question their practices of openly allowing scammers to flood their site just to keep their user counts up for their investors. When they are notified of it, YOU get suspended and the scam account is untouched. Is this ok with any of you? I used A4A’s website back in the mid 2000’s and the platform’s design has NEVER been upgraded. It is exactly the same as it was 20 years ago. Primitive as hell. As far as the Users go… there are very limited real users. The rest are all LONGHAUL scammers meaning they are trained to get you through the long haul and will do anything to retain you until they get what they want from you. Example: Someone tried to tell me they were the Prince of Dubai, backed it up with photos, all the press on him, social media, and then he video called me as a way to try and be “forward” in hopes I’d believe him. 1st photo was different than the rest. Close but definitely not him. Video also didn’t look like picture 1- 25 and it was blurry. He knew the birthday of the real Prince’s 3 yo son and tried to convince me to send him a bday present of an Apple gift card. Keep in mind, I’ve researched “Dubai Prince Scam” probably 20 minutes after we started talking. I printed out the whole scams operations… then highlighted what was already done to “prove” his authenticity. Didn’t let him know I was literally casing him and documenting everything. Every single thing on the printout was highlighted by the time I turned him in. The Iran War even broke out, Dubai was hit… so was Abu Dhabi… and the Ministry of Defense (HIM) made a statement. Asked him what was going on there and used his statement as a “hey I heard that…” and he had NO IDEA. Hahaha. This long haul was 3 days. It was reported on the 4th day with evidence submitted not only to them… but the police (my fatal mistake) and told A4A who was copied on it (even stupider) Within 10 minutes my account was deleted. When I tried to reopen under any email address even new gmail ones… I was always denied. So what does all of it lend itself to? A4A knows of this activity, knows we are doing the work they need to be doing, then “getting rid of the problem” which is US. Does A4A sponsor our gay military? Because 8 out of 10 people who DM’d me during those 3 days all ended up a military guy “stationed overseas in “XXXX” on a peacekeeping mission.” I would delete all personal info before deleting the account then the app. Keep in mind the competition and the alternatives. Grindr is just as tainted. Scruff is getting there. Archer, Hinge and Olive do not seem to have any security issues and if so, very minimal. All three of these apps are congruent to A4A so I hope you all make the jump for your security’s and safety. One of us if not more will fall for one of these long haulers and that’s one too many TBH.
