Deceptive bait-and-switch: Do not trust their shipping promises
My experience with ActiveWrap has been one of the most frustrating consumer ordeals I have dealt with. When I first visited their site, a blue banner running across the top of the webpage clearly advertised free FedEx two-day expedited shipping for orders of $25 or more. When I went to check out, I was shocked to see they were trying to charge me $18.20 for shipping. After I challenged this, they had me replace the order—only to then attempt to charge me a staggering $64.99 for that same two-day expedited shipping. It was a clear bait-and-switch. I discovered they had changed that blue banner to state the threshold was now $50, an adjustment they clearly made within minutes of my initial challenge. I had to engage in an exhausting, persistent battle just to get them to honor the terms that were displayed when I began my purchase. The ordeal didn’t end there. After they finally agreed to the free two-day shipping, they failed to provide a tracking number. When I followed up on the expected delivery date, they offered nothing but excuses regarding a new fulfillment provider. I ultimately had to force them to step up and provide overnight shipping just to make them keep their word. While the product itself is fine, this company’s lack of integrity and their attempt to extract exorbitant shipping fees after changing their own website terms mid-transaction is completely unacceptable. If you shop here, be prepared for a fight to get what is rightfully advertised.

Hey Rocker Rick, thanks for the feedback, though we have to push back on a few points here. We've been in business over 30 years with a genuine 5-star reputation built by word of mouth, one that's earned, not claimed. And nobody forces us to offer free shipping; it's something we choose to do because we're proud of how we treat customers, which is also why we don't take an accusation of "bait-and-switch" lightly. A bait-and-switch means intentionally misleading customers to profit off them. That's not what happened. Your order came in during our transition from our own warehouse to a 3PL partner, and that transition caused a few hiccups — a shipping threshold that was mid-update, a charge that shouldn't have gone through, and a missing tracking number. Those were operational errors during a complicated changeover, not a deliberate scheme. The moment we saw the issue, we corrected the charge and upgraded you to free overnight shipping at our own cost... not because we were "forced," by you but because getting it right matters more to us than being right in an argument. We're sorry for the frustration and the time it took to sort out. But we'd ask that the story reflect what actually happened: a mistake during a system transition that we fixed, not an attempt to deceive you. Glad the product worked out. Integrity matters and that's what ActiveWrap is built upon. Rock on!
