Our company, Clark Energies, attended the ACS Dallas Home & Garden Show at Fair Park, located at 3929 Grand Avenue, on Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16, 2026. Specifically, on Saturday, while our team was conducting business in our booth and speaking with multiple homeowners, a Sunrun employee named Riley entered our booth and began shouting obscenities, disrupting our conversations, and disorganizing the promotional giveaways, table ornaments, and literature displayed on our table. We politely requested that he leave our booth. He refused. We were forced to ask him four separate times before he finally left. We identified him as a Sunrun employee because he was wearing Sunrun-branded apparel, and Sunrun’s booth was located approximately two aisles behind ours. Following this incident, we located a member of the ACS event staff. I immediately recognized that he was not the primary event organizer, as he appeared to be approximately 20 years old. I explained what had occurred and asked whom I should speak with regarding the tumultuous and entirely unacceptable ordeal our company had just experienced. His initial response was, “Well, we do a lot of business with Sunrun, so I’d rather not say anything.” His second response was, “Well, how about I take you and find him, and we can talk it out?” Let me be absolutely clear: Your proposed resolution is to take the victim and the individual responsible for the incident, immediately following the confrontation, and bring them together to talk? That is your remedy? That is your standard for handling a serious complaint from a paying exhibitor? This is precisely why I am assigning a ONE-STAR rating to both this specific ACS representative and the event’s overall handling of the situation. Our company does not pay to participate in these events to be berated, defamed, disrespected, or subjected to hostile disruptions while conducting legitimate business. The fact that ACS conducts substantial business with Sunrun does not, under any circumstances, give Sunrun employees the right to enter another company’s booth, berate its representatives, disrupt its operations, or interfere with its ability to conduct business. A commercial relationship with one exhibitor does not grant that exhibitor preferential treatment, nor does it diminish the rights, dignity, or professional standing of every other company participating in the event. I consider the manner in which this incident was handled to be infantile, remedial, and extraordinarily unprofessional. I want to make one distinction unequivocally clear: I do not hold Sunrun, as an entire organization, responsible for the conduct of one employee. However, the individual responsible, Riley, should no longer be employed by that company. He should be terminated. His conduct was entirely unacceptable, and the ACS representative should have immediately reported the incident rather than attempting to dismiss or informally reconcile the situation. Regarding the ACS representative, this young man appeared to be approximately 20 years old and demonstrated a profound lack of experience, professional judgment, and understanding of how to address a serious exhibitor complaint. Despite his apparent inexperience, he explicitly stated that he was the appropriate individual to whom such incidents should be reported. That makes his response even more concerning. If ACS designates an individual to address exhibitor complaints, that individual must possess the judgment, professionalism, and competence necessary to handle those complaints appropriately, regardless of age. Instead, his immediate concern appeared to be ACS’s commercial relationship with Sunrun, rather than the unacceptable conduct directed toward another paying exhibitor. That is not professionalism. That is not accountability. And that is certainly not an acceptable standard of exhibitor relations. This is why I am giving ACS a ONE-STAR rating. Furthermore, I want to acknowledge that our previous experiences with ACS have generally been average. Until this incident, we had no significant complaints regarding our participation in their events. However, this particular experience has fundamentally changed our assessment of the organization and raised serious questions about its commitment to professionalism, impartiality, exhibitor protection, and accountability. An event organizer’s responsibility is to every participating exhibitor—not merely those with whom it conducts the most business. This incident has made us seriously question whether Clark Energies will ever conduct business with ACS again.

We have participated in ACS shows for many years, but unfortunately, our experience has declined significantly over time. In my opinion, the overall quality and value of the shows are not what they once were. One of our biggest disappointments has been the master lead lists provided to vendors. Based on our experience, many of the contacts we received contained unusable or inaccurate information, including emails that did not appear to be valid. The results from following up with these leads have also been extremely disappointing for our business. My biggest concern, however, has been our experience with the multi-year contract. I contacted the company specifically because I wanted to end our participation in future shows. During a phone conversation, I understood that we had been removed from the multi-year commitment. We were therefore surprised when we later received another invoice and were informed that we still had an obligation to participate. I strongly recommend that any vendor considering ACS carefully read the entire agreement, understand exactly how many shows or years they are committing to, and get any requested cancellation or contract modification IN WRITING. Communication has also been frustrating. We have dealt with multiple sales representatives over time, which made resolving our concerns more difficult. My personal interactions with manager Jennifer Reilly were particularly disappointing. I found the communication and handling of our concerns to be unprofessional and not what I would expect after being a longtime participating vendor. Another major factor vendors should consider is cost versus actual return. Bigger and more expensive does not necessarily mean better results. We have participated in smaller, significantly less expensive bridal shows that have produced better results for our company. For example, we have participated in ABS shows where tables and linens were included. Based on our experience, we have also been more satisfied with the attendees, marketing, and overall value of those events. We've also found that some smaller shows can provide a more productive environment. Instead of focusing solely on the number of people who walk through the door, we look at how many meaningful conversations we have, how many legitimate prospects we meet, and ultimately how many bookings are generated. Based on those measurements, some smaller and less expensive shows have performed better for our company than ACS. That is why I strongly encourage other vendors to compare their options. Look beyond advertised attendance numbers and consider the total cost of exhibiting, what is included, the quality of the attendees, the quality of the post-show leads, and most importantly, your actual return on investment. When comparing what we pay, what is included, the quality of the leads we receive, and the results we have experienced, I personally no longer believe ACS provides the same value for our company that it once did. We intend to fulfill the upcoming fall show that ACS maintains we are obligated to participate in, but we have formally requested that our relationship end after that show. This review reflects our company's firsthand experiences and my personal opinions after years of participating in these events. Unfortunately, based on our recent experiences, I cannot recommend ACS to other vendors without strongly advising them to compare other available bridal shows, carefully evaluate the expected return, and thoroughly review every contractual term before signing.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with American Consumer Shows and the Michigan Bridal & Wedding Expo. I participated as an exhibitor in 2025 and was encouraged to select a multi-year option in exchange for a $50 discount. I did not understand that this would obligate me to participate in and pay for another show unless I cancelled by a specific deadline the following year. The 2025 show did not generate enough business for me to justify returning. I received no reminder as the cancellation deadline approached. Instead, I was contacted after the deadline and informed that I was responsible for the full $1,045 fee for the 2026 show. What concerns me even more is that after researching the company, I found other complaints from exhibitors describing similar experiences involving multi-year agreements, cancellation deadlines, and unexpected financial obligations. I understand that businesses have contracts and cancellation policies. My concern is how clearly the ongoing financial obligation was communicated and the lack of a reminder before a deadline that resulted in a significant charge. Small businesses participate in expos because we are investing in opportunities to grow our businesses. A $50 discount should not result in a business owner unexpectedly finding themselves responsible for another $1,045 show. I strongly encourage any prospective exhibitor to carefully read every provision of the contract, particularly anything involving multi-year participation, automatic obligations, and cancellation deadlines, before signing.

We told the company that, due to my wife and I expecting our first child, that we wouldn’t be able to attend a show (giving them more than three weeks notice), they used strong arm sales tactics and threats to try and force us to pay for the booth even though we couldn’t attend due to extenuating circumstances and gave ample notice.

This company is SUPER shady. As you can see from the other reviews, they have a multi-year clause hidden in the contract. They send you to a site to just initial and sign a contract without explaining what's in the contract. We're allegedly on the hook for another year when the first one was POORLY attended, POORLY organized, and absolutely lackluster and not worth it. If we end up paying for a booth, I will tell every attendee how bad their company is while I am there... might even print flyers about it and hand them out. Having been to over a dozen shows each year for a decade, this one is a company to STAY AWAY FROM.

ACS does not explain that their “multi-year discount” supposedly obligates you pay for a booth every year, regardless if you participate in the show or not. Then they harass you for payment and send you to their “collections department”. Avoid them at all costs, pun intended.

American Consumer Shows has been a nightmare to work with. They operates “Wedding Expos LA.” I informed them in writing prior to December 1, 2024 that I was no longer the majority shareholder of the business that had previously signed a vendor agreement. Despite this, they’ve continued to call and email me personally to collect a balance I am not liable for. I submitted a cease and desist letter. Their ongoing behavior feels harassing, retaliatory, and completely inappropriate. I’m requesting they stop all personal contact and correct this issue immediately. I am being harassed constantly, with threats of collections, which isn't even legal at this point. Stay away.
