I am extremely frustrated with my experience with Accurate Background. My pre-employment background check was initiated on August 27, 2026, and approximately 40 days later it is still not complete. I have contacted Accurate repeatedly through phone calls and online support and have spoken with representatives, supervisors, and management. I have requested escalation, expedited assistance, and an investigation, but I continue to receive essentially the same answer: wait for the estimated completion date. The biggest problem is that my estimated completion date has already been extended approximately five times. Accurate says everything else is complete and they are only waiting for a Honolulu County, Hawaii criminal court search that requires manual verification. I understand that a court delay may be outside Accurate’s direct control, but repeatedly giving me estimated completion dates that keep changing is extremely frustrating. This is especially concerning because this is the second time I have experienced a major employment-related delay with Accurate. Earlier this year, they handled a background check for an Amazon position. By the time that background check was finally completed, the position was no longer available. I have been unemployed since April. I finally received another factory job opportunity and now I am experiencing another prolonged Accurate background check. I am worried that I could lose another employment opportunity because of how long this is taking. I have fully cooperated and Accurate has not requested anything else from me. After approximately 40 days, five ETA extensions, numerous calls, and speaking with management, I expected much better communication and assistance. I am not asking Accurate to control how quickly a government agency responds. I am asking for transparency, meaningful follow-up, and realistic information instead of estimated dates that repeatedly get extended.

By far the very worst company for background checks. It's been a month and still nothing has comeback. It's hard to get in touch with anyone and when I finally do all they say is it's in progress. If I'm ever hired by another company and they use this business I will not be taking the job. For employers please read the reviews of this company before you choose to use them. Terrible and most insufficient company that do these things! I didn't want to give them one star! Now my job is indeed in jeopardy not bc of my background but bc of the insufficient way my background check is being handled. Update I just spoke with someone and I was able to understand just a few words of what they said due to the heavy accent and the lack of the person that I spoke with to speak English. What I was able to understand was,"Still in Review". People need to read these reviews on this horrible company and the futures they are destroying! Update: The company that hired me rescinded the offer due to the turnaround time for my background check. This company was supposed to also pull a report on my driving record which they didn't. I've also have been asking for a copy of my background report and Accurate refuses to send me a copy which is an illegal action by not providing me a copy.

This is the absolute worst background check site ever. It is impossible to upload files. Every time you fill everything out, it glitches and forces you to start all over again. It is unbelievable that this site still exists."

The worst company to ever exist

My experience with Accurate Background has been extremely frustrating and inefficient. The biggest issue has been inaccurate and incomplete verification, combined with repeated requests for the same information. I have had to submit documentation multiple times, even after providing records that should have been sufficient to verify the information. Accurate also appears to pursue employment information going back more than 10 years, even when that is not part of the client’s stated requirement. This creates unnecessary delays and puts the burden on the candidate to track down very old records that may have little or no relevance to the actual background check being requested. The education verification process has been equally disappointing. Rather than efficiently using established credential-verification services such as Parchment, Accurate requested additional documentation and still did not promptly clear the education verification even after official transcripts were provided. A background-check company should be able to distinguish between missing information and information that has already been independently documented. Candidates should not have to repeatedly prove the same employment and education history because the verification process is poorly coordinated. What should be a straightforward pre-employment screening process has instead become repetitive, unnecessarily intrusive, and time-consuming. Accurate needs to improve its verification procedures, make better use of recognized credentialing systems, stop requesting information outside the employer’s actual scope, and provide candidates with clearer explanations of exactly what is still outstanding.

The customer service was nice, but these people took so long on my background check that I lost the job opening. They ruined my chances at finally being financially stable and now I'm back to scraping by to make the bills because they couldnt hurry. They claim its the courts but I've had several other background check companies and then my employer used this one and this is the first time I've ever had a background check take ten days. I'm already at the point that I've lost the opening, really ruined my life.
