I made the MISTAKE of signing up several years ago. When I didn't renew I was hassled CONSTANTLY for my renewal. I even went as far as to enter a fake address in my account on their website just to 'escape' them. Then we moved, and somehow they found out my new address (they are stalkers) and started mailing me membership materials non-stop! I had to go as far as filing a report to the BBB to get them to stop harassing me. This is NO DIFFERENT from stalking/harassment. Even after all of my complaints, and even AARP telling me that they would stop contacting me, THEY NOW HAVE A NEW TACTIC: they are now mass mailing people without adding an address on the envelopes! They make me sick! It's like a crazy ex-boyfriend that refuses to leave you alone! If we can opt out of emails, block robo calls, then why can't we stop a company from constantly harassing us? They offer NOTHING of value. AARP MUST BE STOPPED.

One star is 10000 time more than they deserve as a rating. I do not do business with SPAM COMPANIES!! These people love to send out YOUR PERSONAL DATA to ANYONE that picks up mail, and this IS A CRIME!!!!

64% bad rating. Awesome. What a greedy parasite this "organization" has become. I just tried to call the 800 number inside my magazine to see if I could drop my subscription, but not my membership. I never read it. It just goes straight from my mailbox to my recycling bin. I thought they were supposed to help us help the environment. I never got to talk to a real person. Instead, I got 4 pre-recorded bait and switch sales pitches for everything from those lifeline gadgets that you see all day on TV to roadside assistance which you also see ads for all day and night. After hitting # 4 times to hopefully move on like they kept saying, I was instead just disconnected. Trust me, their one and only one concern is our money. Please, don't ever think otherwise.

100% Organized Crime. They kill a Billion trees a year sending Identity theft crap. This was only built to Rip Off Stupid Old People. And kill the planet of trees.

I would give them no stars if possible. You can do as good if not better with discounts not using AARP. When AARP endorsed Oak Street Health that sealed what I already suspected that AARP is about money not quality for members as you couldn't find a health care provider worse than Oak Street Health for seniors,

Most incompetent clowns in the world. Dogs will do a better job. Customer service is horrendous and unprofessional. They hang up on you and dispatch phantom tow trucks in order to appease you. Got alerts for a tow truck. When I called for a eta. Tow driver said a request was never sent. These people need to go out of business.

The magazine and event portion of AARP is done fairly well but their website is a nightmare! I can't imagine the frustrations that elderly women and men must feel when they try to use it for anything. I'm 65 and have more than 30 years computer experience so I'm not whining because I forgot my password. Nothing of the sort. But I could see my 84 year old mother being reduced to tears were she to try to even do something as simple as try playing solitaire or researching an article on the site. It most DEFINITELY IS NOT senior friendly which is whom the target audience would be, I'm assuming anyway. AARP might better stand for Almost Always Remarkably Poor because it is!!

This outfit helps screw over those they purport to serve, to benefit their advertisers. They endorse the scum of the earth as long as they keep pouring advertising dollars into their coffers. One of AARP's perennial lap dogs, Consumer Cellular, just screwed us out of 450 dollars, with their deceit and lies. AARP refused to help us out. The medical plan they endorse (United Healthcare) has one of THE LOWEST consumer ratings available. Their auto insurance favorite (Hartford) gave us a ridiculously high quote when we were shopping auto insurance providers. But they still endorse them as if Jesus himself was their CEO. No doubt they are in bed with J.D. Power, another two-bit fake, phoney fraud of an outfit. In my opinion, there actually was a time AARP served a noble purpose, until Joanne Jenkins slithered into the drivers seat. Maybe when she retreats back under the wet rock she crawled out from under, AARP will again practice what it preaches.
