Disappointed by AAR’s Lack of Cooperation After a Disputed Storage Auction
Absolute Auctions & Realty conducted the June 2026 auction of four U-Haul storage rooms containing nearly my entire five-bedroom household. The belongings reportedly sold for a combined $335. I notified AAR that I was disputing the sale before the purchasers' scheduled pickup and followed up with a certified letter. My requests were simple. Could AAR at least notify the purchasers that the sale was being disputed? And if they couldn't provide me with the purchasers' information, could they simply forward my contact information so I might have an opportunity to recover or preserve irreplaceable family photographs, childhood memories, and personal belongings? Instead of addressing whether either of those steps was taken, AAR's president repeatedly directed me back to U-Haul and stated that the company had nothing further to share. I understand AAR conducted the auction on U-Haul's behalf, but I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was simply hoping for some cooperation in trying to recover belongings that money cannot replace. A little compassion and willingness to help would have gone a long way. Very disappointing.
