My truck needed inspection and I had/have concerns about my transmission/ drive train (slop loose) that's why I chose a transmission shop. I had request a thorough transmission/drivetrain check w/inspection. Had some repairs done and a list of things for me to take care of to pass. He said front brakes needed addressing. I bought and replaced,THEY WERE NO WHERE NEAR COMPRIMISED, less than an 1/8" worn.
There was no transmission inspection or drivetrain check.
He did charge $43.00 for COURTESY CHECK.
NOT HAPPY
HE DID WORK WELL WITH WARRANTY PEOPLE. THOSE PEOPLE ARE ANOTHER POST TO COME

Took my car for a joyride, got a ticket and crashed it
UPDATE:: THEY CRASHED MY CAR ON A JOYRIDE GOT A TICKET THEN CHARGED ME $1200 AFTERWARDS!!!!
THEY HAD MY CAR HIDDEN IN THE BACK BEHIND THE BIGGEST TRUCKS THEY HAD ON THE LOT.
I DROPPED MY 2020 ARMADA OFF AT THEIR SHOP LOCATED IN DOVER DELAWARE FOR SERVICE . MY CAR SAT UNDER CAMERA FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE IT WAS SEEN BECAUSE THEY WERE CLOSED. IT WAS LAST SATURDAY EVENING WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF BY MCKINNLEY'S TOWING AFTER HOURS WITH NO DENTS!! I PICKED MY CAR UP A WEEK LATER AFTER THEM TELLING ME EVEN THOUGH THEY JUST REPLACED MY TRANSMISSION 4 WEEKS AGO 8k IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY IN THE FIRST PLACE BECAUSE I HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AS WHEN I ORIGINALLY TOOK IT TO THEM. THEY SAID NO ITS NOT COVERED ITS YOUR TROTTLE BODY NOT THE TRANSMISSION. TOOK IT BACK FOR THE SAME REASON AND THEY TELL ME IT WAS ACTUALLY SOMETHING ELSE 8K LATER. THEY CHARGED ME $1,251 AND REPLACED THE REAL ISSUE. "THEY TEST DROVE MY CAR PLENTY TIMES AND ITS NOW GOOD TO PICK UP" THEIR EXACT WORDS I STILL HAVE THE TEXT. NEVER MENTIONED THE DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK.WHEN I GET THERE THEY TAKE MY $1.2K PAYNENT AND MADE ME WALK TO THE BACK LOT AND FIND MY CAR HIDDEN BETWEEN TRUCKS BIGGER THAN MINE. I JUMPED IN AND WENT STRAIGHT TO THE GAS STATION LESS THAN 3 MINUTES AWAY WHEN I GET OUT I SEE A HUGE DENT IN THE BUMPER OF MY TRUCK LIKE THEY BACKED INTO SOMETHING OR GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT.
I WENT BACK FUMMING.... THEY CLAIMED THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. EVEN THOUGH ITS CLEAR ON THEIR CAMERA AND MINE!!! THEY REFUSED TO SHOW THE CAMERA FOOTAGE OF MY TRUCK.I CALLED THE POLICE AND HAVE PLENTY WITNESSES.. I HAVE MY POLICE REPORT AND VIDEO FOOTAGE OF MY OWN.... I WILL SEE THEM IN COURT
Update: MY INSURANCE COMPANY FOUND THEM LIABLE, AND I ALSO RECEIVED A TICKET THAT THEY GOT WHILE TAKING MY CAR FOR A JOYRIDE. GOD IS GOOD

Stay away & find another AAMCO. Damaged my car door while it was in their shop.
Do not take your vehicle to AAMCO in Santa, CA. They do not treat customer's cars like they should as car professionals, and they don't treat the actual customer with respect.
I've been going back and forth with Adrian and Eric for weeks now about the dents & scratches they made on my vehicle's passenger door while it was in their shop.
Eric is supposed to be the manager of the shop, but won't take accountability, so he keeps pushing it to Adrian who is supposed to be the owner of the shop.
And Adrian won't take any ownership.
I'm leaving this review now that they've hung up the phone on me instead of communicating & finding a resolution before it turns into a legal matter.
No moral ethics. I wish I had read the 1 Star Reviews before taking my car here. They do not take their customers seriously.

Did I even get the transmission I paid for?
My experience trying to get help from AAMCO Corporate has been extremely disappointing.
I contacted Corporate on July 27 with a very simple question about work performed by an AAMCO franchise: Did I receive the transmission I contracted and paid for, and did what was installed meet AAMCO's standards?
I followed up repeatedly. On August 4, I asked about the escalation process because I had received no answer. I followed up again and gave AAMCO until August 18 to provide a substantive response. That deadline also passed without an answer.
After more than a month, I finally received a response only after contacting AAMCO through social media and having the social media team escalate my complaint.
AAMCO Corporate has now sent me what it specifically calls its "final response."
It still does not answer my questions.
Instead, Corporate explained that the Newport location is independently owned, that the franchisee sources its own materials, and that Corporate cannot comment on the supplier.
That misses the point.
I wasn't asking Corporate to tell me where a franchisee buys parts. I was asking whether a product sold to me under the AAMCO name was the product I contracted and paid for, and whether it met AAMCO's own standards.
After more than a month, multiple follow-ups, escalation through social media, and a "final response," AAMCO Corporate would not answer either question.
If Corporate cannot or will not tell a customer whether work sold under the AAMCO name meets AAMCO standards, that is something I think prospective customers should know.

AAMCO Transmission 1550 Old Trolley Rd
AAMCO Transmission 1550 Old Trolley Rd, Summerville, SC 29485
Stay far away from this business. It's not a transmission repair shop It's a transmission swap shop. I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee in for diagnosis for a shifting problem. I asked them before I brought it that they repair transmissions and was assured they did. After having the car all day, I got an estimate for a transmission swap. They were going to sell me a used transmission with only a twelve month twelve thousand mile warranty, only good at this summerville, south carolina location for fifty five hundred dollars. Shop labor was listed as $1890. The trans was offered witha minimal warranty, three thousand one hundred and seventy four dollars. The total bill with taxes came to 5 thousand five hundred and twelve dollars. Their diagnosis was possibly a bad clutch pack and the only thing they would do it was swap out my transmission for used transmission and that they don't work on my transmission. I asked, why don't they work on my transmission? And I was told, they just don't work on it.
The labor estimate of one thousand eight hundred and ninety dollars was very sketchy. No labor hours listed, just one thousand eight hundred and ninety dollars in labor. He must be paying his mechanics very, very well. And has a loaded labor rate of about two or three hundred dollars per hour, according to my mathematics or he just tries to soak every customer that comes in there for all he can get.
Apparently, the owner does not know that you can look online and find twenty businesses that sell used and remanufactured transmissions over the internet. I even found the used transmission for sale that he was going to purchase to put in my vehicle, it was fifteen hundred dollars. This AAMCO marked it up to 3 thousand three hundred and thirty five dollars.
So this is not a transmission repair shop. It's a swap shop with an owner whose only intent is to soak you for as much money as he can get. He told me it was probably a bad clutch pack, and I looked up clutch packs online. You can buy clutch pack rebuild kits from many different vendors. But this AAMCO only has one thing in mind: to rip you off for as much money as he can.
So this is the business model. Find a used transmission online over double the price of it from what he paid from the online retailer. Put a grossly padded labor bill on the estimate. Then, take your transmission, your core, and sell it back to another transmission repair place for probably a thousand or two thousand dollars. What a racket this guy is running.
This is not a legitimate business. This is a racket. Heed my words and stay far away from this place.
And to add injury to insult I had to pay $140 diagnostic fee. It was like an episode of the Sopranos.
I'd give zero stars if I could.

Beware of False Results Pushing for Transmission Rebuild
We went in for a transmission fluid flush at the Aamco in Monmouth Junction, NJ. They offered a “free” assessment to see if everything looked good. Only to then say they needed $338 ($299+tax) to complete a full diagnostic. After agreeing to pay for the full diagnostic, they said we needed a transmission rebuild and quoted a minimum price of $2,500 but could be more depending on what parts they needed once they opened it up. For an additional $800 they could open and see. However, when asked for a diagnostic report, they had nothing to show. They said they would email it but didn’t. I followed up with a few phone calls asking for the report and they promised to look into it but never called back. They used fear tactics to pressure customer to proceed by saying we’re paying for it one way or another and they reported to CarFax without our consent.
We then took the car to the dealership and paid for another assessment. The dealership concluded that the transmission is fine. I think this Aamco is a total scam.
