CONTRACTORS BEWARE: YOU WILL HAVE EXTREME DIFFICULTY GETTING PAID. My company covered a handful of restaurants in the Austin area for 86Repairs; we covered HVAC, refrigeration and appliance repair. We had challenges with ALL 86Repairs clients in getting payment- you as the contractor bill the clients, directly, but still include 86repairs on the invoicing as well. We attempted to have a conversation with one client (stopped paying for work performed Feb through June) and then attempted to leverage an installation bid if we just absorbed $20K+ in invoices; we declined. When I went to our vendor representative at 86Repairs two things essentially happened: 1.) We were told that there's nothing they can do with respect to a client who won't pay; 2.) Knowing what they know, they kept the same client, and just directed calls to a different contractor. (Once we told them we would no longer do work for this particular client-we had an approved installation- we were not sent any additional work.....which in retrospect is likely a blessing, but still a bit rude.) Anyway, please be advised, that you are on your own with respect to getting paid, and the track record is poor.

My company has hired 86 Repairs to outsource our facilities maintenance and repairs needs. They have not successfully executed a single service call and are consistently unresponsive. To our understanding, the entire point of utilizing their services was to create less work for us in that we wouldn't be chasing down technicians to get work done, and instead, we find ourselves chasing down 86 Repairs for follow-up and ultimately reaching out to the technicians on our own, just on a delay.

I was hired through 86 Repairs which is an out of state service that a local restaurant hired. I have now spent over 10 hours chasing this company for payment on a 3 hour job. I have received nothing but attitude and now it looks like I will have to file in small claims court. Before you get involved with 86 Repairs consider getting a deposit on whatever work you are doing. I was very clear with the rep from this company on how I intended to get paid. I laid that out in advance of doing the work or ordering the $100 part. I am now out of p[ocket for the project, parts and over 7 hours of my time chasing payment.
