I spent $1,500 on a light fixture and waited a month before it was delivered. Because if the initial delay, I couldn't install it immediately after I received it, but checked out the box and everything looked fine. When I finally took it out and completely unwrapped it to install, I found the shade had separated from the frame and there were multiple dents in the shade. 2modern refused to replace the shade because it was outside of their 30 day return policy. They initially offered to replace the shade for $500, but then stopped responding to my emails. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. UNFAIR AND UNETHICAL.

This company does not disclose shipping dates and thus will take your order and your money on a product they do not plan on shipping to you until 4 months later. They also do not answer their customer support line or emails. Yet, they have no problem charging you immediately for your purchase.

Ordered a bed frame and bed was shipped two weeks after promised. Service people at American Relocation, the delivery service used by 2 Modern were extremely rude when I called on day of delivery because they had missed their five hour window by an hour and not bothered/thought to inform me. The woman was unsure of the window time and corrected me rudely twice, only to be wrong herself. Finally admitted driver was running "a little behind."

Received a dresser that was destroyed during shipment. After sending pictures per their request, 2Modern offered to take it back and acknowledged receipt of the item back in September 2013. It is now May 2014 and I have still not received my refund. 2Modern originally indicated that Amex and PayPal were the problem because the transaction was being disputed - both of those organizations have considered the transaction settled as of October 2013. 2Modern claims to have superior customer service and there were a couple people who attempted to help along the way, but were unable to resolve because the transaction also required the assistance of the accounting department - and it is clear the two groups do not communicate. On multiple occasions they have indicated that the CEO is aware. Inexplicably, 2Modern cannot and will not return my funds even though there has not been a stated reason for months as to the delay. I have been an online purchaser of major goods for years and I did not think that it could be this bad. The worst part is that they have left it up to me to chase down and if I am not contacting them to remind them that they owe me $1500, they are happy to pretend that there is not a continuing issue. As frustrating as this has been, I gave them the benefit of the doubt for 7 months as I know that all businesses have their bad days and that you should not prematurely record a bad review on an otherwise good business. Although 2Modern admittedly has a very nice product selection and Web site, there are many other reputable organizations that conduct e-commerce appropriately.
