My wife and I had been planning to redecorate our bedroom and part of the plan was to find a painting to hang behind our bed. We prefer original works, not because we're snobs, but because we enjoy knowing that a real person put their skill and talent into the art. We looked and looked, but just couldn't find anything that matched the mood and feel of how we wanted the room to look. Finally, in our search we came across an artist whose work we instantly loved. We'd never heard of John Atkinson Grimshaw before, but we knew he was our artist. The problem was we didn't have an extra $200,000 laying around buy an original even if we found one, and we didn't want to settle for a flat, one-dimensional print. Thank goodness we found 1st-Art-Gallery online! The most difficult part was finding the Grimshaw that we wanted. We finally decided upon Roundhay Lake. It had the scene, mood and tone we wanted, plus there is a couple standing above the lake and looking out upon it. That's us of course! The ordering process was easy, the communication was flawless. When the painting finally arrived (a week early I might add) we were unsure what we would find when we unrolled the canvas. We knew that it wouldn't be an exact replica (how could it be?), but we were extremely pleased at how well the painter had captured the look and feel of the work. Then we had to wait for framing and repainting the room to finally see our Grimshaw on the wall. It was well worth the wait! Thank you 1st-Art-Gallery!

I have used 1st ART-Gallery for a number of years. Many paintings which I have commissioned are non standard ie not masterpieces. Therefore the technical challenge ( style, light etc ) for the painter is high. The quality of the finished work has always been of a high standard with which I am very satisfied. First, there are many choices of painting on the website and even the possibility to do custom orders which are not really more expensive. Secondly, the shipping was really fast, less than a month in total from order to delivery to framing to hanging! The painting comes in a tube and it is easy to get it stretched and framed. This allows you to pick up a frame while you already have the painting to get one that matches nicely. Finally, the painting quality is very good, a quality you wouldn't expect from such a good price. It can have very slight differences with the original, you can look at samples, though some small differences are sometime better than the original And by small difference it might be slight stroke differences, not the overall figure which look identical if you do not have the painting right next to it and do not take your time to look through very small details. Overall, I do not believe you can get better than this at this price.
