Librela needs to be removed from the…
Librela needs to be removed from the market before it kills any more dogs. Zoetis is not being forthcoming about potential side effects. Our dog had three shots but neither our vet or us linked it to Librela because the product information sheets don’t contain a comprehensive list of side effects. For two months we noticed massive thirst and hunger, dementia symptoms, balance issues, heavy panting and a sad change in personality. Ten days after the third shot, he fell and had not settled at night since the shot. He was completely zoned out at night and we had to stay up with him to calm him. Twelve days after the shot he was rushed to the emergency vet with vestibular symptoms, ataxia and the complete inability to use his legs. Emergency vet diagnosed vestibular disease and said it wasn’t a brain tumour. Fourteen days after the shot he could no longer even crawl. He lost the ability to void. He was upset and terrified about what was happening to him. We took him to our regular vet who diagnosed a brain tumour for the first time. We let him go. Two weeks later I saw a news report about adverse effects from this drug and our vet filled out an adverse event report with Zoetis. He had a horrible end that no dog or their family should ever have to go through. He would likely still be here if he hadn’t had this drug. This drug is causing enough serious, adverse side effects that it needs to be removed from the market NOW!
