Avoid like the plague
I was working as an associate in the Investment Group of ZMINE under Brittany Lawson, who was the manager of the Investment side. They hired me and placed me on a probationary period for one month for which I was to be paid (I was not). Upon leaving the probationary period, I was signed to make $80,000 US each year. I agreed to the terms and went to work with them approximately 6 weeks ago and did not receive a dime during that period. I was simply a conduit for moving money it seemed. I started to notice this and enquired about my role. I was not doing anything that I was told that I would be expected to do, so I began to do it on my own per their "Guidelines" that they sent with the offer letter. When I asked last week what the point of all of this was and what exactly was the "company" doing on a daily basis, I was met with a very cryptic answer. At this point, they had opened up an account in my name at Oregon Community Credit Union and Coinbase. Again, in my name. They asked me to link these accounts to my personal Bank of America checking account. The first transaction sent money from Oregon to my BofA account via transfer. I was then instructed to transfer the amount to Coinbase, which was attached to Cross River Bank. They set this up perfectly as nothing raised a red flag for me. When I began to think about the business structure last week as to why they needed essentially a clearing house in my name, I was met with no response. I could not understand why they simply didn't fund the Coinbase/Cross River account through the company. Of course, this is when I began to question the legality of the company and again asked the question of why the structure was in place. Again, no response. At that point, Brittany Lawson (if that is her name) asked me to delete the Oregon account that was verified as an external account from my BofA account. I did so. At that point there were no accounts affiliated with my BofA account. When I asked again about the model, I was met with no response. This was Friday, June 3, 2022. I was certain at this point that this was nothing more than a money laundering/scam. I awoke Monday and checked my BofA account balance. Mind you, I used this account only to pay off small bills automatically and now for simply being a transfer agent for Zmine. I awoke to find that my account was overdrawn by $9,456. When I looked at my statement it was a transfer from Zmine to where, I do not know. I can only guess that it was Coinbase. I contacted Zmine roughly 10 times over the next 2 days and texted Brittany personally over 8 times asking that this situation be rectified. I received zero response. I continue to email her daily as I have now been locked out of the company intraweb. I also contacted BofA s fraud department and asked why would they transfer $9,800 from an account that only had a balance of roughly $400 at the time. I have since called them 3 more times and there appears to be no recourse. My complaint about BofA is the lack of checks and balances that allowed a $9,800 transfer to be approved when the account had only $400 dollars in it. They have not been responsive except to say that I have to call the recipient bank for that. I have been a client of BofA for 33 years and never once been overdrawn. Why would I say "hey! Here/s a thought. I'm going to transfer money that I know that is not even close to the balance". Not to mention, I don't even know who the recipient of this madness is. So, I still sit with a negative 9,300 dollar balance and have begun to move as much as I can away from BofA, as these crooks still have that account number. I continue to send Brittany Lawson personal emails as I am locked out of my intraweb as they never respond. Not only did they not pay me a cent as the offer states, they did not bother to say that they are letting me go. I am amazed that anyone can be this cavalier and absurd, but that's Zmine.
