Lack of compassion
My experience with Zaan Hotel Amsterdam left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. Despite facing extenuating circumstances, including my travel companion's diagnosis of secondary bowel cancer and immediate treatment, the hotel rigidly adhered to their non-refundable booking policy. When I reached out to them, hoping to reschedule my stay for two nights starting on March 2nd, they displayed a remarkable lack of empathy and flexibility. I understood the terms of my non-refundable booking but expected some level of understanding and assistance given the gravity of the situation. However, their refusal to accommodate a change in dates, even when I clarified that I wasn't seeking a refund, felt callous and indifferent. Their offer of a name change for the same date was not only useless but also demonstrated a complete disregard for the circumstances I was facing. It left me feeling unsupported and undervalued as a customer during a time of personal crisis. In summary, my experience with Zaan Hotel Amsterdam was marred by their inflexible policies and lack of compassion. I would caution others against booking with them, especially if they anticipate the need for any flexibility or understanding in their travel plans.
