They once had great customer service, now 7/2026 it is slow (two days for a response) not well informed and apparently not educated in the software they are supposedly supporting. I remember back in the day I actually got help from Austin. I understand they have grown but outsourcing customer support seems to be a bad decision.

I have been using X-plane since it's XP7 version in 2018. I got it back then since it was the only Mac sim. They have made leaps forward in time in both graphics and technique. What I like about x-plane is how they have grown as a team and the product. Austin always told us users what they have done and made it a more personal product this way. There is a very strong community, the x-plane.org with members from alover the world willing to help and share stuff. The fun thing is that people are able to contribute to the product.

We bought the most recent X-Plane 12 in the disk form. We figured having disks would be a better option when downloading so much online.| Unfortunately, by time I got to disk 7 the download would give me an error (scenery disk). I tried multiple ways to get around, even selecting just 1 country but it would still give me an error. I emailed X-Plane support and when they would eventually reply they had no support. They said they would send it to their special tech guys but after a week of no contact I tried contacting them again. There was once when the support person was emailing within minutes but every other time over a 3-4 week period it would take days to get a response and it never was helpful nor did it resolve the issue. X-Plane had absolutely ZERO support or suggestions to offer. I asked for a phone call or to give me the ability to try downloading it via the web but that never garnered a response. The last and final contact I had was asking for a full refund as I had the software for a month and was still unable to install it. To my pleasant surprise, I received a message saying they would give me a refund. I don't understand how they could not offer any support or put any effort in even trying to resolve my problem. We bought Microsoft's version and my son is happy to finally have a program to use and that works.

This is a sinking company, which doesn't give a damn about the community or its opinion! Writing an e-mail to Austin Meyer is just a joke! (the creator of X-Plane). Childish responses, denial, and also doesn't seem to give a damn about X-Plane and its customers. Companies that don't take feedback and don't apply it are the companies that fail. We can see now how the entire community switched to MSFS. Instead of fixing X-Plane Austin and his team decides to troll MSFS. Don't buy from them, not even a commercial license!

X-plane 11 is easily the greatest flight simulator of all time. The graphics and gameplay are fantastic, much better than FSX, and there is a seemingly unlimited library of third-party downloads. I highly recommend this to all flight sim fans!

Its alot nicer than FSX but they don't support flight controls using arrows and have no choice but to use a joystick or use the mouse to move the yoke...which makes it unplayable which is a shame.
