Concept is good and there are a lot of advantages. The reporting is difficult to learn and too many clicks while using on regular basis. It really requires a full time staff member to become an expert.

Software is good and it helps make my job more efficient once you have the basics down. There are things that can be improved in the UI. It is not intuitive to a user who is familiar with only MS Project. If you are familiar with other task tracking tools, it is more easily picked up (i.e. Rally, Jira). Since I fall into the latter category, it was easy for me, however for much of our teammembers, it is not so easy. That is the reason for the 3 star rating. I am the exception, not the rule. Getting projects in and out of MS project and a much easier UI experience would greatly help.

Tool is good at the detailed task level but does not offer flexibility to manage work and report on work at a higher level. PMs need the ability to manage work by week or month (vs day) based on the number of projects they manage at once and need the ability to roll everything up to a portfolio level across objects.

Great LEAP event 2017
Workfront review 3/5:
The system still needs some work and it's pretty complicated. For me if the flash tools were removed and the resource management tools were all completed I think I'd give Workfront a 4/5. As of right now for me to give a 5/5 workfront needs to implement their new LMS system, Plugin System, Outbound email templates, add Rich Text Formatting, Fix the Commit Dates workflow, rework inbound emails, show company relationships for people when you're adding them to objects in the tool, fix the scaling issue of if emails exist in separate workfront instances you cannot create the account in your instance without changing the casing or using plus addressing, add custom plugin support into workfront, fix some of the small reporting issues like not being able to filter by projected completion date for issues, be able to disable workfront advertisements on our main web page, and increase the character limit on updates.
Leap Conference Review: 5/5
Great sessions, networking, and attention to detail throughout the entire conference. I only saw technical issues in one room, and the workfront staff was right on it, very impressive! The Workfront staff was very willing to sit down and understand our teams problems as well as offer suggestions while being very open and honest about just about everything that's going on internally with workfront.
If you're planning on going to LEAP be sure to spend time before hand understanding the problems that you're trying to solve and you will not be disappointed. For us there was great advice about the Psychology of getting buy in for new systems across an organization in regards to workfront. Asking questions about related issues in classrooms is a great way to get attention from others who have had the same problems.

Great for tracking progress, but very user UNfriendly to make edits, especially changing timeline
Easy enough enter tasks, pick assignee, enter timelines initially, but once the project is underway and you try to make changes to the timeline, it throws everything off. The different categories to assign to tasks is not very well explained and is quite difficult to understand and use even after trying it out a few times.

Agile is underdone
We moved from waterfall to Agile and really tried hard to make WF Agile work but alas JIRA won out. It had a far more mature agile offering.

Fairly Robust with Limitations
We like Workfront overall and want to continue using it. All products regardless of maturity have room for improvement. Having said that, some basic features/functionality are often discovered that the product cannot do. We request them via the enhancement portal. If your core competency is to be a leader in project management software, that should be the focus. We've seen a lot of focus on the digital side. The audience is different (and not us) so we often sit through your new feature webinars when we don't need to. Last but not least, reporting could be more robust. It is pretty hard to get a nice looking project status report without buying someone else's software to put on top of yours.
