Update-Needs better in-house counter attitude
This is an update to the review mentioned below. I was contacted by the President of the company who assured me that corrective action has been taken regarding military ID recognition and attitudes. For this I thank him. This shows me that there are people and companies that stand behind what they advertise. For this I changed my review from a 3 to 5 star. Original: I would like to say that that my wife enjoyed the shopping and the nice conversation with Amy. The 2 things that irritated me was that they offer a military discount, but apparently some there don’t know what the various ID’s given veterans looks like. I produced my VA card but was told that it’s not a valid type of ID. So don’t trust what you’re told about a military discount. Secondly, I drove my wife there from Texas just to overhear one of the other women make a comment about Texas attitudes. If it wasn’t for my wife, I would have cancelled all transactions and walked out.
Response from The WooleryOct 12, 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share this, and for making the drive from Texas to visit our shop. We're so glad your wife enjoyed her shopping and her conversation with Amy. But we're truly sorry about the rest of your visit, because you deserved better on both counts. The Woolery is a family owned and operated business, and we're a military family ourselves, so hearing that a veteran was turned away from our military discount is hard to read. Your VA card is a valid form of ID, and it should have been accepted. We've since gone over the full range of veteran IDs with our team so this doesn't happen to anyone else. The comment you overheard about Texas bothers us just as much. We have close family in Texas, and that remark doesn't reflect how we feel or how we want any guest to feel in our shop. We've addressed it directly with our staff. We appreciated the chance to communicate with you directly, and we've applied the military discount to your purchase as it should have been from the start. Thank you for your service, and thank you for giving us the chance to make it right.
