Up until now I had nothing but high…
Up until now I had nothing but high praise for Mathematica - and then they went and blew it in one go. I got an email offering an upgrade to 15.0 (personal home use) and thought, why not. I will tell you why not. My previous version was/is 13.30 and it is a perpetual license. So what is the problem? When I downloaded and paid for version 15.0 it suddenly appears that this is now also a YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION. This IS NOT made clear, up front when you are about to make the purchase, it only appears when you have completed. Needless to say I was more than a little unhappy about this and let Wolfram UK know about it. I have uninstalled Mathematica 15.0 and deleted the download file. I have cancelled further payments and I am now awaiting a full refund. In one foul swoop Mathematica have gone from a product I used to rate highly to a 3rd World outfit trying to pull a fast one in the hope of making a quick buck. This is a brainless approach to business Wolfram and I really thought you would know better. Sadly not.
