Wrong wine delivered so missed the occasion for which it was ordered. Collection of wrong wine was difficult. Driver insisted there was no wine to go back, showed him the email from Wine Society confirming return of incorrect wine. He grudgingly agreed once he had checked his records but then a debate ensued as I had been told that I needed to cover-up my address for the return but the driver insisted I should have a label. A right farce and fiasco - not inclined to use them again.

Ordered wine for delivery 6 May. Not received by 7 May so phoned Society. Told it hadn't even been dispatched! Said they would send tomorrow. No communication from them about the delay - I had to chase them. The wine is for an event at the weekend - hence ordered for delivery on Wed to make sure. Will I get it?????

Good range of wines but not cheap and, in my experience, delivery is hopeless. I am still waiting. Delivery had been promised but way after the date booked

Trying to follow up on Xmas wine recommendations in the Times and Guardian takes you to the usual suspects, who frequently don't have the wine you're after. So I keep coming back to the Wine Society. It's not always offering the lowest price wines, but that's more than made up for by the quality, range and availability of wines. I've tried a number of wine 'clubs' and this is by far and away the best

The Wine Society has this excellent ability to be reliable with the classic Bordeaux and Burgundies, as well as to be inventive in finding good wines from under-rated regions, such as Eastern Europe. It is exceptional in its low-priced wines too. Its Southern Spanish Red Jumilla 2018 is less than £6 a bottle but is as good as some double that price. Its catalogue has great range and its delivery service has never let us down. We have bought some wonderful wines through the Society en primeur.
