I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world, I can honestly say Marriott are the worst hoteliers I have ever had the misfortune to stay with, you’d be better off with a tent and a flask

I'm staying at a Marriot now and I called down yesterday morning for towels and to get my sheets changed. It's been 32 hours and none have been brought to my room. I keep calling and requesting but nobody is bringing any up because they "Don't have any" HOW DOES A HOTEL RUN OUT OF SHEETS AND TOWELS!?

We went to the Curaçao Marriott. The service was so poor and definitely not what i had previously experienced at another Marriott hotel. Unfortunately my wife and I noticed that the service was especially bad. For example, during breakfast service we would have to wait 20-30 minutes to be served tea or coffee. This was after already having to get up and order at the bar. It appears staff simply said “yes” and then just forgot about the drinks. Very poor service. Another example is when we were sitting on the beach, we went to the Salty Iguana to order fries. This was charged to our room, but almost 45 minutes later my wife had to walk back to Salty Iguana and was told the kitchen forgot about it. There were only two other tables having lunch. Extremely bad service that afternoon. A third example was when we ordered drinks with room service. After about 30 minutes we had to call back and ask where the drinks were. We were told they were “on the way”. We still had to wait quite a while after that. A fourth example is during dinner service when we did not receive the correct bill. We had to call the waiter back to correct it. Please keep in mind that the waiter had forgot to add things, and since we are honest, we made sure we were charged correctly for everything. A fifth example was breakfast our last day. Several waiters passed us by and did not ask what we would like to drink. My wife finally just served us tea herself, grabbing a container of hot water from the bar as it appears no one bothered to help. The day prior during breakfast, one of the waiters who wanted to give us the bill knocked over a full coffee on to the table, and said she would come back and clean it up. She never did, nor did she bring a new coffee. That particular day was extremely bad. Forgot to mention in the second example regarding the fries at the Salty Iguana, my wife informed me that when she went to check on the fries after 45 minutes, there was quite a lot of staff behind the bar doing nothing or shadow boxing each other. Very unprofessional. Lastly, unbeknownst to us the island suffers from power outages. During our 6 night stay, 2 of the nights we had no power which meant no room service, no safe entry to the room, no hot water, no tv, no internet etc. For this no apology was given and nothing additional such as a drink was offered for the inconvenience. At checkout when asked if we enjoyed our stay we mentioned a few of the above and got a $50 dollar deduction off our bill - a good gesture but not good enough to warrant a return to the Marriott.

Do not honor reservations! I would avoid at all cost especially Sheraton Metairie New Orleans! Worst experience ever!
