ViaTalk/CallVia: your past was brilliant; your present is obscure; your future could be ugly!
Here is a new member of the club of companies that were praised for having outstanding customer service, yet adopted the dry ticket system to save money, affecting consumers due to a lack of response. I'm an advocate for the ticket system as a resource to streamline technical support incidents, but this must be done with business ethics in mind. Now this new member is CallVia, formerly known as ViaTalk, with which I've been doing business for more than 15 years! How this company went from efficient to a completely distant and dry customer service is hard to understand. I'm having serious issues with money being taken from my bank account. At the same time, my service status is current, but service is suspended because I took steps to protect my money and prevent them from withdrawing more money from my account. I filled so many tickets last week, wasting a precious amount of time, and they still haven't responded. I was able to resolve incidents over the phone in the past by talking with very friendly and knowledgeable staff members. I've been in the IT industry for 30+ years as a senior developer and university lecturer, so I have seen the industry evolve, with a few companies taking the wrong path by neglecting customer service operations. So, ViaTalk, now doing business as CallVia, is an example of how easy it is for a company to go from efficient to poor, hiding its business ethics and responsibilities behind a ticket system that could be brilliant if customers are treated with respect. Good luck, CallVia, in your new venture of doing business like this!
