Sold me "pet-scratch-proof" leather — their own website admits it isn't
I bought a Valencia "Serena" leather sectional ($3,252.28, Order #27801) specifically because Valencia's product page advertised the leather as "designed to resist even the most determined pet scratches" and "designed with your beloved pets in mind." Under normal household pet use, it tore — exactly the failure they said it would resist. The damning part: Valencia's OWN blog ("Leather vs. Fabric Theater Seating") tells pet owners to choose fabric, says this leather is for "households without pets," and warns "pet claws can puncture or scratch permanently." They advertise it as pet-proof to sell it, then publish that it isn't. Both pages are archived. When I reported the damage, Valencia's only response was to tell me to hire and pay a third-party repair company myself — no refund, replacement, or warranty. They ignored my formal refund demand and never responded to my BBB complaint, which BBB closed as a non-response. I've now filed complaints with the Colorado and Texas Attorneys General and the FTC. Buyer beware.
