Old Oxidized Junk!
UPDATE 6/6/2026: After telling the company I planned to file a complaint with the BBB they offered me a brand new full size product which was exactly the right color upon receipt (pale yellow not brown). In light of their follow-up I am changing my review to 3 stars. I should not have to file a formal complaint with the BBB to get this result. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I ordered the Mini Retinol Rapid Repair Dark Spot Treatment, and it is dark BROWN not yellow, as it appears on the product page. When I searched this phenomenon, Google said it has oxidized and is no longer effective. I reached out to the company about this matter, and this is what they said: "Please note that products formulated with active ingredients like retinol can naturally shift in color over time, which may include slight darkening or changes in appearance. This does not necessarily indicate that the product is ineffective or expired." That is definitely not what competitors are saying. Even Google AI said the following: "Products with retinol turn brown primarily due to oxidation, a chemical process where the product breaks down after being exposed to air, light, or heat. When retinol oxidizes, its color changes from its natural pale yellow to a darker yellow or brownish hue, signaling that it is losing potency and is no longer at peak effectiveness." If I just bought this product from your company, which means it should be fresh/new, and the product was brown in the tube when I removed the aluminum/metallic seal from the product opening, the product is NOT fresh. Unless Google and the other beauty brands that sell retinol products that are yellow or pale yellow in appearance are lying. I have many other products from other companies that contain retinol, such as Paula's Choice and Inkey, and none of those products were brown upon receipt, brown immediately upon opening, or showing signs of oxidation weeks after opening. In fact, all of those products are still yellow after use. I understand that it is Dianah's job to protect your company, but this is not the way to do it. I just want some kind of resolution. If that requires a return, then I will return these old, oxidized products. I will also file a complaint with the BBB and write a review wherever I can find the company listed.
