I ordered Mary Ruth's Hair Supplement…
I ordered Mary Ruth's Hair Supplement from this company. Their website looks legitimate and they advertised a great discount of a whole bottle for $9.99. I ordered a bottle and selected $4.99 for the shipping method. When I reviewed the purchase a few days later, I noticed that I was charged $14.73 for the shipping. I contacted the company and received this as a reply. "Hello Kimberly, Len here from trythrives.com Customer Service. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your concerns with us. I completely understand how frustrating it must be to see a shipping charge higher than expected and to not yet have your order in hand—especially when you selected the $4.99 standard option. I truly appreciate your patience as we sort this out. I also want to be transparent and let you know that because we process orders quickly to get them to our customers as soon as possible, it can be challenging to make modifications once an order has been processed and is currently in transit. At this time, due to the operational and fulfillment costs already incurred, we are unfortunately unable to cancel or provide a full refund. That said, upon checking, here’s what happened: after checkout, our system performs a final carrier check to ensure your order is shipped safely and efficiently. Occasionally, if the shipping tier selected doesn’t meet the carrier’s requirements, the system automatically upgrades the shipment. This ensures you receive: Full tracking — complete end-to-end visibility on your package Priority handling — faster processing with carriers Loss & damage coverage — added protection for your order I completely understand how this may have caused the price discrepancy and confusion. To make this right, as a one-time courtesy, I’d be happy to offer a 50% ($7.37) refund of your shipping fee. You’ll see this reflected back in your account within 5–7 business days. Once you confirm, I’ll process this refund immediately. Your trust and support mean a lot to us, and I want to ensure your experience ends on a positive note. Thank you again for your understanding and for giving us the opportunity to make this right. Warmly, Len" I wrote them back stating that this is unethical business practice. I also received a notification from my credit card company this week that the purchase on my account looks to be a fraudulent company. The charge did not show up on my account from TryThrives. It showed up as a charge from TowerGentCom. I had never heard of this company and did not correlate the charge to my TryThrives purchase. I have had to cancel my credit card and get a new one. Do NOT order anything from this company. I still never received the item I ordered and it's been almost 3 weeks. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bereau.
