I had a great experience with Tropical Birding from start to finish. Their website has so much information about the tours that it was easy to understand what I was signing up for. Administrative communications regarding payment, reservations, etc. were easy with good response time from the company. Our guide was as knowledgeable as any I’ve ever had. His ability to identify birds by song was incredible. He easily recognized even rare endemics he hadn’t seen or heard in years, so it was obvious he studied hard before the trip. Accommodations, food and transportation were all comfortable and satisfying. I will definitely travel with Tropical Birding again.

Excellent Trip.

Andres was a great guide and host. Eduardo was an able and friendly driver. The birds were very good. We were interested in photographing the most dramatic birds we could get close too. IMHO a little too much time pulling skulkers out for a flash of feathers but I suppose it was a listers trip. Andres did a nice job managing between varied interests and always kept us informed of plans. Lodging was comfortable and the food was great for every meal. Could have done without one or two of the long lunches but no complaints overall. Enjoyed the trip and would recommend it.

Although this was primarily a birding tour (Taiwan endemics), even before the trip began I was very happy to receive a checklist covering not only birds but also mammals, reptiles, amphibians and butterflies. My ideal birding tour is one that looks for anything that flies, crawls, swims, walks... And this was exactly what I got. Guides Ken Behrens and Kuan Chieh Hung went above and beyond: not only did I see - and in most cases photographed - all 30 endemics, several endemic subspecies and even bonus birds like Fairy Pitta, I was also lucky enough to see several frogs, snakes, butterflies and mammals, including the rare Formosan Golden Bat. The guides respected my pace (I have trouble with hills due to a hip injury) and asked for my opinion when there were choices to be made. They also had me laughing a lot (always a bonus!). Most importantly, however, they showed vast knowledge of the animal species, their habits, calls and habitats. The tour was well organized and everything worked without a hitch. The days were very long and intense, but also very productive and rewarding. One very satisfied client here.

This was our first visit to Africa and it was incredible. Our guide Crammy worked tirelessly to show us far more bird species than I anticipated. On top of that we saw a great variety of mammals in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking was an experience we won't ever forget. Can't wait for our next trip with Tropical Birding!
