Very disappointing experience. The process was disorganized and poorly coordinated from start to finish. Multiple people repeatedly requested the same documents and information that had already been provided, creating unnecessary confusion and extra work. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication at the very end, when timing was critical. Instead of helping us get across the finish line, they essentially went silent. For something as important and time-sensitive as a mortgage, we expected much better coordination, responsiveness, and professionalism.

The endless negative reviews for this mortgage lender all over social media raises a huge red flag. Our experience in dealing with this lender to buy a house was the absolute worst experience anyone should ever have to go through. Darren Kaplan was our loan officer. He purposefully chose the wrong loan product for our needs, knowing full well we couldn't qualify. A total lack of communication combined with intimidation tactic, yelling and emails that went ignored. Questions went unanswered. Besides myself, this person yelled at our realtor and attorney. He gets off yelling at people because his mother must have taught him that that's how he makes himself look superior to others. He's part of the chosen few and the rest is just human feces. At least that must be what he has in his mind. After 3 long months, it was obvious we were going nowhere with this loan and in order to buy the house, we needed desperately to switch lenders. We did so and she was able to pull off in 3 weeks what Darren couldn't do in 3 months. Wow, all of a sudden we qualified because the "appropriate" loan was chosen for us. Where there's a will, there's a way and don't ever believe that all loan officers have your best interest in mind. Some will jump through hurtles just to prevent you from buying a house. Why? Because they know they can. We come from marginalized communities. None of what we went through came as a surprise. It was expected in this polarized country full of hatred against your fellow American.
