Have you always wanted to write a book? Have you never found the time to do it? Or the motivation? Do you still think novels are written alone in garrets, with no help from anyone whatsoever? Then you NEED The Novelry. I sat down and started the 90-Day-Novel course two and a half years ago; within months, I had a first draft; a year or so later I had an edited draft; two years later I had a prize shortlisting for an unpublished book and six months after that I got an agent. How does this work? Through a series of excellent lessons, a way of working that recognises that you have a life and thanks to the supportive teaching of Louise Dean, the founder, and the great community of other writers, both wannabes and published, she has created. It's cheaper than SO many other courses on the market, it's great fun and it works.

Having completed the 90 Day novel course, I was always going to follow up with the Big Edit, and it hasn't disappointed! I'll just whisper this, but I'm starting to feel less like a fraud and more like an author...

The Novelry is both an engaging and inspirational set of courses and an extremely encouraging and supportive community that will take you from the germ of an idea to a publishing-ready book. I love being part of this movement, lead by the inimitable Louise Dean.

Brilliant! A great range of courses and an amazingly supportive community.

The Classic course @ the Novelry is pure gold. It helped me turn my concept to a clear plan with characters, plot, setting and theme.

Totally brilliant! I'm a children's picture book writer, looking to expand into middle grade, and I did the How To Write A Classic course with The Novelry. Initially I hesitated, just because it seemed expensive for an online course, and I wasn't sure how relevant it would be to me as a children's writer, but I have to say it was worth every penny and more. The sheer volume and quality of the material and analysis was what really blew me away about The Novelry's Classic Course. I expected a fairly brief 'how to write' type course but what I got was a much more in depth and much more useful 'this is how bestselling authors did it' course. Not only does Louise give you tips on structure and plot and content, there's a wealth of research that's gone into everything she teaches. So what you're getting is not the potentially subjective view of one novelist, but an insight into the common threads, into the heart and soul of the classic. Whether you're writing for children or adults, I can't recommend The Classic Course from The Novelry highly enough. I haven't written my classic yet, but I'm on my way and I know what I need to do.

Just finished the Classic course and it's been a revelation. Fascinating and fun. It took the learning I did on a creative writing MA to a new level entirely, in looking at the essentials of what makes a great story. The to-do tasks at the end of each lesson really fired my imagination, emotions and creativity. I feel much better resourced now to embark on the next stage, to write the novel I already had in progress but to shake up my ideas and write with a new energy. Thank you, Louise.

I entered The Novelry as a confused alien, clearly unfamiliar with the world of writing and what it took to create a successful novel. My expectations were minimal as I’ve wondered around for years trying to understand the details and concepts easily traversed by bestselling authors. Immediately, Louise stepped in and calmly took my hand. She led me through the general layout, individual steps, and secret tunnels of story creation. Through simple explanation and a powerful map, she made the unfamiliar delightfully accessible.
