Misleading reminders
Misleading reminders, unclear pricing, upsells for filings you can do yourself. I had to do this, Jerz is a known person in ecom, but my experience horrible, this should stop. I used The Jerz Way for a Wyoming LLC formation in August 2025 and have been a paying client since. Over the past year I have noticed a pattern that I think future customers should be aware of. What concerned me: • I paid $350 for a filing service that was then delayed, and was subsequently asked for another $250 for a form I completed myself in under 5 minutes using a free online tool. The additional fee was not mentioned when I first paid. • I received a "reminder" email stating that Forms 5472 and 1120 must be filed "before April 15," followed by an offer to assist. This framing is inaccurate for foreign-owned disregarded entities, which have an automatic 6-month extension available via Form 7004. Reminders that omit standard options and lead into paid services do not feel like neutral information. • Renewal was $300. Breaking down the actual costs: Wyoming state filing is around $60, and registered agent service at competitors is $49–$125 all-in. When I asked why the fee was substantially higher, I received vague references to "mandatory state filing fees" without any itemization. • Communication tends to lean on urgency and vague authority rather than clear, comparable information. What worked: the LLC was formed correctly, the EIN was obtained, and the renewal was processed. The core service does function. My honest suggestion for anyone considering this provider: ask for a written line-item breakdown of every fee before paying, verify all filing deadlines and requirements independently with the IRS or a licensed tax professional, and compare pricing against at least two other registered agent services before renewing. If those things line up for you, great. If they do not, there are transparent alternatives at a fraction of the cost. Experience: August 2025 – August 2026.
