The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery Dinner ShowReviews of thedinnerdetective.com

The whole experience was not what I expected at all. It was supposed to be for a first date and it was horrible. The acting was so cheesy and it did not give murder mystery vibes at all. I have tried receiving my money back but you have a no refund policy which is crazy for the lack of services provided and false advertising.

0/5, terrible show. It advertises itself as an award-winning, unforgettable, immersive experience where one is able to actively investigate a murder by interrogating other participants, with a script created in house based on a real cold case. It goes as far as require dressy attire to drive in the point that this is supposed to be a special, well-run event. Unfortunately, it was disaster. The only opportunity for active investigation came right at the start before any information was given or the murder had even occured. What followed from there was the worst, least interesting, most lowbrow performance we've ever had to sit through. The "detectives" filled the time with an endless stream of immensely stupid bits - at one point one of them was running around the room with a pair of briefs rubbing them in people's faces - before updating the case file and sending out the next course without ever providing another opportunity to follow up on leads. Not that it was necessary, the actors in hidden in the audience were immediately obvious from their cheesy overacting. Outside of the food, which was decent but not special, this was a total waste of money.

Absolutely terrible. The food was awful. Overcooked and poor quality. The show was poorly acted and organized. Made little sense and was ultimately un entertaining and a waste of time. Some folks actually got up and left mid dinner. We should have done the same.

The acting was over the top cheesy. There wasn't a lot of decorations. It was a hotel banquet room and was bland. The people were nice and the servers were attentive but the food was gross. It started with only enough salad to cover the bottom of the plate. For the main course, there was an actual formed scoop of instant mashed potatoes, what looked like defrosted mixed vegetables, and an extremely flat, unseasoned chicken breast with a gross dark brown gravy. I didn't expect a 5 star meal but this was like horrible cafeteria food. My husband and I couldn't stomach the food and ended up leaving. Very disappointing night.

I've been to high school plays that were better acted than this and honestly, this one also had no clear plot. The engagement activities and "clues" seemed silly and did not relate to solving the murder. I was bored and disengaged much of the way through. And the food - not good, a real banquet of rubber chicken. All in all, save your money and go to a true theater or improv troupe instead.

Not that funny for the cost- super confusing clues.

HORRIBLE. Do not waste your money. WHAT A JOKE. Bones in the fish, horrible acting, complete waste of an evening. Total scam.

Wasn't what I expected. Should of read more about it. Not in to mixing comedy with crime. More into serious stuff. Food was awful. No dressing on salad nor any available. Waist of my money. Didn't stay for the whole show. Ended up leaving early.
