The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery Dinner ShowReviews of thedinnerdetective.com

This was definitely a waste of a Saturday night! The whole event was amateurish, loud, disorganized and not at all up to par to other similar events we have attended! The mystery never got off the ground and we ended up leaving right after the entree was served. Speaking of which, the chicken was tough, bland and veggies so undercooked, we could not cut them even with a knife. The website mentions a dress code…hah! The caliber of guests did not live up to the hype. Save your $$, folks.

We’re giving this experience one star only because there isn’t an option to give zero. The price was completely disproportionate to what the evening actually offered. Dinner consisted of a small chicken leg served over bland rice, followed by a small piece of plain cheesecake for dessert. Overall, the entire evening felt extremely amateurish and poorly executed. We even paid extra for a member of our table to participate as a suspect, but the cast only asked him a couple of questions, and he ultimately had no meaningful role in the mystery. That was especially disappointing given the additional cost. For the price, we expected a much more engaging, polished, and immersive experience. Unfortunately, the evening fell far short of those expectations.

The food was horrible and for what we paid for 2 tickets ($192) I expected more. There was no dressing for the salad, and when I asked it took 10 minutes to be brought to the table, there wasn't enough bread in the basket for each guest and it was stale and hard, the beef was super tough and the potatoes were not completely cooked and over seasoned. And they only brought 6 brownies to a table of 8 people. The female detective actor had a rip in her pants on the thigh, for the money we spent thumbs down and never again

It was very amateur. And confusing. We were given "Interrogation Forms" that I think were supposed to encourage us to go ask everyone there questions. It id really work. Dinner was a "go through the line and get your food". We didn't do that. The food didn't really look all that appetizing. We left at that point. (Act I was done.) So perhaps my review isn't fair since we didn't stay.

The price indicated a very nice meal and a well put together show. The meal was no better than school cafeteria food and the show was awful. Don't fall into the trap of paying extra to be part of the show. It's just a real big disappointment! Save your money.

Chicken was dry and not seasoned carrots were hard as a brick. Dinner roll not fresh. Very noisy could not hear what was going on. Left not even knowing what the show was about. Would not return. Our party of four spent a lot of money on those tickets.

The plot was not fun. The clues were obtuse and the detectives were hard to hear. Mic them up. I wanted my food sooner as well. I am used to a more intimate mystery dinner setting with actors at our tables.

Not even sure what to review Nothing happens You pretty much just sit around and wait for slow food to come out Coffee and tea with dessert costs an extra $5 Take your money and light it on fire as you will be way more entertained watching it burn then sitting through whatever this was
