My husband is using the cholesterol test strip. This test strip shows with 30 less than the blood test performed in the laboratory. For example if the test strip shows 190, the laboratory test performed on the same day at difference of 1 hour will show 220. This is why we always add 30 to the result shown by this test strip. My complain is that (this happened two times so far) that with 1 month before the expiration day, the test machine refuses to do the test displaying on the screen that the test strip is expired...when it is not!. Then we have to order a new package...you understand my frustration. Why the test strip is not valid until the expiration day? Maybe I have to keep it in the refrigerator?

It is a little higher level than th lab test.It is perfect for me to test at home and control myself on limited food eating

I am a member of a medical clinic that goes to Guatemala twice a year. We serve a great number of patients with diabetes, as well as women with possible PCOS. The A1C test we used proved extremely helpful to determine if patients were under optimal control, to determine if a new patient with a single high blood sugar actually had diabetes, to consider PCOS in obese females with menstrual irregularities, and to determine when or if to increase or change the medications on a patient with Type 2 diabetes. Without the A1C test, our treatment would have been much less effective.
