Mailing costs and return envelope issues
The return envelope is not a prepaid mailer and requires postage, and they give instructions to return over the course of a few weekdays. This required going to a mailing services store and paying $34 for postage for tracking and 3-day air. Also, the included envelope does not include information that indicates biological specimen inside. I believe this is illegal or at a minimum poor practice and this subjects the sample to possible opening and inspection during mailing and may pose risk to postal workers. Makes this lab seem less than highly professional.

Hi Sarah, thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear you're not satisfied with the mailing envelope to return your sample back to our labs. This can be sent with regular mail for approximately $1.00 USD. However, if you have any concerns, we recommend speaking with your local post office who will be able to advise. Dried blood spot cards are not subject to the same restrictions as vial samples. It is not recommended to ship dried blood spot card specimens in plastic, foil bags, or other airtight, leak-proof sealed containers. The lack of air exchange in the inner environment of a sealed container causes heat buildup and moisture accumulation. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] Thanks again for the great review! Donna, Customer Service Manager
