Received a routine oil change on 10/4/25 , immediately after leaving Take 5 my car broke down, my engine is locked up. Please do not use this franchise if you want to keep your car in good running condition. This is situation is detrimental to my family as we only have the one car and have a small child with complex medical needs. My car was running perfectly fine and never had any mechanical problems.

So I went trusting Take 5 to do a typical oil change and they did it incorrectly causing my vehicle to burn up and leak oil them causing to mess up my engine. They are not wanting to pay for damages which Mercedes is stating if the job was done correctly, it would not have cause the engine to break. I have all documentation as well as all receipts for time my vehicle has been out for about 2 months. The fact that they continue to ruin peoples lives, and finances is so unacceptable I do not see how you can continue to do bad business like this! I am destroyed and outraged.

I'll never go back.
I had an oil change, and my Nissan Sentra started to stall at traffic lights.
I checked the oil level and noticed it smelled of gas, I talked to a mechanic friend and he told me to drive it for 30 to 45 minutes to see if the gas burns off,but I'm worried about it breaking down.
I will update when im know more.

MISLEADING/SCAM/NON-RESPONSIVE/PREDITORS
On July 28th, an oil change was performed on my vehicle at Take 5 - store #25 in Raleigh, NC. Immediately following the service, the vehicle began emitting large amounts of smoke both inside and outside, prompting an urgent return to the service location.
My husband, understandably upset by the situation, requested to speak with a manager (Wes) due to the severity of the issue and the fact that our vehicle had no prior mechanical problems before this service. A Take 5 technician briefly inspected the vehicle and stated that oil had been spilled on the engine, which they claimed had been cleaned after returning, however, the cleaning was clearly inadequate thus having our vehicle towed off of the road.
After the oil was supposedly cleaned, we were advised that the remaining oil would burn off while driving. Trusting this information, I proceeded with my planned road trip.
Unfortunately, just 30 minutes into the drive, I was forced to stop due to excessive smoke and oil leakage trailing from the vehicle and the serious risk of our car catching fire if I followed the technician's advice to drive it and let the oil burn off. Go figure! Instead of caring about what damage it could cause driving it, they'd rather gamble with my safety.
Upon pulling over, the smoke and oil leakage was really bad leaving no option but to have our car towed to a mechanic, who found a significant amount of oil spillage on the exhaust, engine, and skid plate. As a result, my trip was canceled, and we were hit with unexpected expenses for towing and professional oil cleaning.
Given the improper service and the resulting inconvenience and costs, I am formally requested a full refund for the oil change performed on July 28th. Additionally, I am seeking reimbursement for the related expenses, resulting in towing, inspection and oil cleanup.
Expense reimbursement down below:
Oil change: $155
Towing: $240
Inspection & Oil clean: $72
Expense Total: $467
After escalating a complaint, the Store Manager Wes, spoke to his District Manager, Andrew, of which Andrew stated he would provide a full refund of all expensed incurred and reached out to my husband via email requesting receipts and photos be emailed to him before he released reimbursement to us.
We gladly emailed those items right away only to be ignored. We have attempted to email the same receipts and pics several times asking if he would respond to our email and never received any response from the DM again.
We even took our correspondence and sent our complaint to their customer service department, including emails we previously sent thinking we'd get someone to respond, but NOTHING. We sent a final email out giving a soft warning that we plan to forward our complaint to the consumer protection bureaus, attorney general and possibly be forced to have the matter litigated if they fail to follow up. NOTHING. Customer service is just as much a scam as the rest of the Take 5 Circus.
I am not done though; We plan to escalate this all the way to court if necessary. Take 5 calls themselves a business? They have a common theme across the US yielding poor service, damage to vehicles and highly disgruntled customers. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!

RIPPED OFF, CORPORATE UNRESPONSIVE
AIthough I verified at the beginning that the Take5 corporate coupon for 25% off would be accepted for my oil change, employee informed me coupon was no good AFTER the old oil had already been drained out. Then gave me a lesser discount to "make up for it". Clearly this is some kind of scam. Oil change ended up costing me $125 AFTER the piddly discount. So Take5 is OVERPRICED and a ripoff joint as well. If I could give NO STARS I would. I will certainly never go there again. And here I sit for 30 minutes on hold with the company, after being transfered a couple of times...clearly they have no intention of anyone answering.

Oil Change - Awful
I took my car in at the beginning of August 2025 (ill have to pull the exact date). I paid for an oil change (full synthetic) which isnt cheap. Fast forward 3 weeks later...my oil is leaking. There was no leaks previously until after going to Take 5. I end up taking it to the dealership and they fixed it (free of charge) and it was due to the oil filter leaking. This is unacceptable. POOR LAZY WORK FOR YOU ALL. I should have known better when the guy told me he was working on his day off.

Take 5 oil change damaged my car!!
I took my vehicle for an oil change on 4/22. Less than 3 months later, may car randomly stalled at a stop light. I got it towed to firestone and was told my engine was locked up. Towed it to the dealership and got the same diagnostic. I contacted the store location where I got the oil changed - was told a claim would be open. 1 week later, I got an email saying that my claim was denied because I had driven 2,600 miles.
I never had any problem before the oil change. Per the diagnostic, the locked engine was due to oil issues.
I filed complaints with the BBB, and Oklahoma Attorney Generals office as expenses due to Take 5 's negligence will exceed $8,500.
There are so many negligence complaints against this company, they surely should be shut down for consumer safety.
