DO NOT HIRE ALEXANDER SURFUS OF SURFUS MOVERS TO MOVE YOUR VALUABLES, UNLESS YOU WANT THEM DAMAGED, BROKEN, DESTROYED AND DISRESPECTED. Tim C on this site, wrote a review 1 year ago. My choice to ignore his warning, has led to severe financial loss. All the 5 star reviews caused me to trust a criminal I never should have hired. Alexander Surfus has been operating a moving business for 5 years, and has a F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Alexander Surfus of Surfus Movers is not licensed or insured, which I discovered when I reported him to the SC Office of Regulatory Staff. Your insurance will not cover you for the property he damages and destroys. It has almost been 1 month since he moved me and I am still finding broken property. I texted him to inquire where he placed my expensive $500 gem collection that I asked the movers to take to my car. I texted him 3 times, but no response. I offered Alexander Surfus an inventory list before I moved and asked for his email. Now I know why he never provided it. Do not hire him without requesting a copy of his license and insurance, which the lying criminal will not be able to produce. Alexander Surfus claims to offer packing services, but did not pack anything. None of my furniture or fine art pictures were wrapped in a blanket or plastic. When I asked him why is my expensive Italian leather couch standing on its side outside the storage unit, he stated that he has been moving 12 hours and he is focused on removing everything from the truck. He simply did not care. As soon as we arrived at the storage unit, he immediately began to break items. As I kept running to the front to see what was broken, he begin to quickly sweep up and trash all broken items to prevent me from seeing what was broken. Given all the items that are missing, he stole a lot of my property. He stored trash in my unit leading to maggots, flies, bugs and liquid stains left inside my storage unit. The smell was horrendous. The storage manager complained that I left blood looking statins on the cement floor. However, it was the movers who stored all the glass juice from the refrigerator inside a black trashbag, and drug them to the storage. This is the first time I have ever experienced a mover who stores glass bottles with liquids inside of a trash bag to be moved into a storage. I had at least 3 full bottles of the expensive lakewood juice, pomegranate, beet and grape juice left the blood looking spots the storage manager complained about. Nothing I asked of Alexander Surfus was honored. No matter how many times I kept saying, please stop moving food items into my storage unit, they continued. I was exhausted having to look inside of every bag to ensure it was not food. Unfortunately, the ones I missed led to the maggot infestation. They threw my expensive property into the storage unit like a heap of trash. The movers simply did not care. It was Alexander Surfus choice to stop & start 3 separate times to move my items from a first floor apt to a first floor storage unit. He never once filled up the truck. When I asked him why he didn't, he stated that it is easier to unload than it is to load. Yet, he had the nerve to complain to me that he had been moving 12 hours, as though it were my fault, when he could have conducted himself like all the movers before him. Every last one of them filled up the truck before moving. However, Alexander Surfus only packed the truck half full each time and stopped 3xs. I failed to listen to Tim C's review and lived to regret it. If you are willing to risk hiring Alexander Surfus of Surfus Movers, you will live to regret it, as he is dishonest, arrogant, pompous and even took off his shirt to show off his flabby body. He was absolutely nauseating and despicable. Before the move, I offered to send him an inventory list and requested his email. He never sent it or asked about it. Yet, the day of the move, 30 min before he arrived, the sorry lying crook asked me to tell him how many boxes I needed as he agreed to offer packing services. Not only did I have to walk to every room to take an inventory of the # of boxes, he required me to take photos and send them to him. Yet, he only showed up with 5 boxes. He became threatening and aggressive when it was time for payment, even though my property was lying on the floor of the truck I paid $300 for him to rent. He is a nasty crook that will put on an act of professionalism. What I found most shocking is the fraud of the insurance companies that only cover water, fire damage, not damage caused by a sorry criminal like Alexander Surfus. Based on Tim C.'s review, he too learned to late that since Andrew Surfus is not licensed so that he could insure his business, the customer is left with thousands of dollars in losses. I am willing to provide photos and evidence of the condition he and his movers left my storage unit in.
