Prosaunas and affiliated webpages
Prosaunas.com aka SaunaMarketPlace.com, SteamSaunaBath.com and others. I submitted a $2500 order for Thermo-Aspen wood including various lengths of their 1x4 with medium gap, 2x4s, 2x6s, 1x3, 1x1 and corner trim. While submitting the order there was no indication of verifying the material was unavailable, nor was there a mention of there being a long delivery time. My wife and I not opposed to a long lead time, but we do expect some transparency when making an order. The next day their office called to inform us that the only material on our order that was available are the 2x4 x 8'. Nothing else on the order was available. The website allowed my wife & I make specific selections length, sizes, type of wood and profile without informing us to lead times or availability. Until the next day after accepting my credit card payment. I expressed frustration during the call of having spent a lot of time preparing this order, and at no point during the process was there a message or note on the webpage that any of the material was unavailable or had a long delivery period. The person I talked too said that they know about this problem and had repeatedly told management about, but nothing had changed. I said this feels as close to "bait and switch" as anything I had dealt with. Prosaunas is in the main distributer for Thermo Treated sauna wood in the US, and has several different web pages that ultimately lead to the same site for ordering wood. To knowingly mislead the public is beyond "buyer aware". It is intentionally deceitful. Prosauna called me back later the same day and offered to provide my wife and I with substitute materials. However, the profile of the wall cladding my wife & I selected was a 4-5 month lead time. This was not noted on their webpage or ordering form. Long delivery should be clearly noted on their web pages, prior to making a payment. I asked them to cancel the order and the credit card transaction. I also submitted a claim to my bank.
