I discovered Starter Story by accident. But as soon as I found this resource, it became a breath of fresh air for me. It made me realize that there are people just like me who want to build products, and many of them are actually succeeding. What surprised me the most was seeing people build all kinds of products, apps, Chrome extensions, and plugins, both on their own and with the help of AI. What attracts me the most are simple tools with a single function. Yet these simple tools are often capable of making money. Niche, interesting tools. For example, I really liked the idea of a product that connects to your email and cleans unnecessary incoming messages out of your inbox. It operates on a subscription model. It's a simple utility tool, but if I remember correctly, it has a healthy MRR. Whenever I get the chance, I tell people: guys, check out this YouTube channel. It might help you in some way. What’s encouraging is that lately a lot of attention has been given to marketing and distribution. That’s very important because it’s a major pain point for many indie founders. That’s pretty much it.

All of the stories help me while building my own app. Good to know the tech stack and time to build for projects. Marketing insights help too.

America is a land of opportunity! That opportunity is most manifested through being an entrepreneur. Starter Story has become an important source of motivation, inspiration, a place for resources, great business advice from actual founders, and last but not the least a wealth of tools and techniques that other founders have used to succeed thereby saving start up founders insane amounts of time and money not making the same mistakes. Pat, himself has become an example of a bootstrapped founder who saw a niche and through hard work and relentlessness succeeded. Gary Oberoi

I love how you read the comments and incorporate what people are asking, such as sharing more about the marketing strategies people used!

"Starter Story is essentially a university for founders. Pat’s interview framework is remarkably consistent, distilling complex SaaS and app businesses into clear, actionable insights on strategy, finance, and technology. It’s become an essential resource for my own product development process." I highly recommend for any builder looking to bridge the gap between concept and execution."
