Please stay away from Starr Insurance
Please stay away from Starr Insurance. All the reviews I am coming across show they are shady. I got insurance through ACI (I didn't really know them, just something cheap to cover a flight booking). I had a need to file a trip interruption and returned on a different flight after medical treatment. The entire claim process was confusing but I eventually got through the documents requested 2 years later, (I couldn't understand their website-quite old school and cluttered), so everything was through their guidance by email. They said Starr was reviewing it. I had never heard of Starr until recently, and this was 2 years later. I got some cheesy interview asking irrelevant questions about lodging and other unrelated things that I never asked for. It was clear afterwards, according to them that they sent an update on 09/10/26; that they did not want to pay this claim, but rather tried to twist facts in order to not pay. They claimed a return ticket was purchased, when I never mentioned this or asked for any coverage on that. I specifically said the return trip was rerouted through a partner airline, since Delta is an AirFrance partner, but I was able to use the original return ticket for the new flight. Basically dates were changed, and the original receipt preserved. They mentioned lodging and all types of irrelevant details that they were not asked to pay etc. I am seeing that they are not a straightforward company at all. This is my first time dealing with them. Please stay away from such a shady company.
