Spectrum Reach Advertising
Spectrum Reach Advertising: Serious Allegations Raise Red Flags for Advertisers Spectrum Takes Advantage Of New Customers — Despite branding itself as a “people-first” advertising partner, Spectrum Reach Advertising has drawn sharp criticism from advertisers who allege deceptive practices, profit-driven decision-making, and a complete lack of concern for client outcomes once billing begins. Former clients and industry observers warn businesses to stay far away, citing experiences they describe as misleading, costly, and deeply disappointing. Allegations of Dishonesty and Coordinated Sales Tactics Critics specifically point to Deborah Carter and Alexander Velazquez Guzman, alleging the two work closely together in ways that prioritize closing high-dollar contracts over delivering real value. According to these accounts, promises made during the sales process often fail to materialize once advertisers are locked into monthly commitments ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, $15,000, and even $20,000 or more. Deborah Carter, in particular, has been described by dissatisfied advertisers as two-faced and untrustworthy, with some going as far as calling her “a snake” — not as a factual claim, but as an expression of how betrayed and disregarded they felt after signing contracts. These critics allege she showed little concern for advertiser success once invoices were issued. Alex Velazquez Guzman is similarly accused of participating in the same sales approach, allegedly working in tandem to push expensive packages while downplaying risks, limitations, and realistic performance expectations. “Set It and Forget It” Campaigns That Benefit the Company — Not the Client According to advertisers, once campaigns launch, placements are often pushed into low-impact or poorly performing time slots and geographic areas that do little to generate results. Critics allege these placements primarily serve Spectrum Reach’s internal inventory needs rather than advertiser goals. Multiple clients claim they were placed in “stupid areas,” irrelevant programming, or ineffective schedules — while being told everything was “performing as expected.” Meanwhile, advertisers allege Spectrum Reach continues collecting monthly fees while keeping the majority of the financial benefit, regardless of campaign success. Breakdown in Communication and Accountability Adding to the frustration, some advertisers report that Mr. Edwards stopped taking or returning calls entirely, leaving clients without updates, explanations, or support. What was marketed as a “dedicated account team” allegedly vanished when concerns were raised or results questioned. Rather than making adjustments or acknowledging underperformance, critics say they were met with excuses, vague reporting, or complete silence. A Profit-First Company Masquerading as Customer-First While Spectrum Reach Advertising publicly claims to value transparency, integrity, and long-term partnerships, critics argue the reality is very different. According to these accounts, the company operates with a profit-first mindset, focused on charging high monthly fees, moving inventory, and protecting revenue — not advertiser success. Some critics go further, alleging that this model has negatively impacted thousands of businesses over time, particularly small and mid-sized companies that trusted Spectrum Reach’s reputation and invested heavily in television advertising expecting guidance, care, and accountability. A Clear Warning to Businesses For businesses considering Spectrum Reach Advertising, critics urge extreme caution. The company’s polished messaging and “people-driven” branding may not reflect the experiences reported by dissatisfied advertisers. Those sharing these experiences advise businesses to: Get everything in writing Demand specific placement details Question geographic and time-slot decisions Closely examine reporting And be prepared to walk away According to these critics, Spectrum Reach Advertising is not a partner — but a company that allegedly cares only about charging high monthly fees while keeping profits for itself. For advertisers seeking transparency, honesty, and genuine advocacy, these critics strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
