Patricia Q.
You Get What You Pay For
I was told that turn around time would only be about two weeks. It turned into FIVE months. We had a great beginning with promises of: spiral wire connectivity and hard covers, professionally done front matter, ISBN number visibility, proof book where we could make corrections, table of contents page numbers, etc., ability to order in groups of ten… This is what we got: We wound up with no visible ISBN number Plastic spirals on some books No hard covers No professionally formatted front matter No ability to make corrections ourselves to the proof book without an uptick in charges. Extra blank pages Three books held back from that order to be shipped with the next order of ten (essentially hostage) which we refused and asked for our money back…we were then told that those books could be shipped to us for an additional $99…which we refused -they were eventually shipped to us and they were damaged (warped)…we got our books in total warped and all. I sent pictures of the damage and we were refused replacements or money back. Be careful with this company. Keep all correspondence and be prepared to stay the course or you will just be frustrated. On the plus side, we were treated well in the moment and the books were okay if we had not expected fulfillment of promises and professional results. With all the back and forth frustration, we would probably not do business with this company again. Updated review…what else can I send you…I have all written correspondence saved. I can send you everything…from beginning to end. I have already sent you pictures but will gladly supply whatever it is you need. How can I send more pictures of the project…I don’t see a place for that… I thought pictures were attached…Will gladly send those pictures of warped books, blank pages, no visible ISBN NUMBERS, no Table of Content page numbers, no professional front matter, no hard covers, and proof that three books were not sent with the original order of ten… September 10, 2026 Our relationship with Sparkleaf is apparently over… Kevin, Good to hear from you. I spoke with Frank and I think we will both be moving away from Sparkleaf and moving on in another direction for any further printing projects including his companion sketch book dating back to 1954 that we talked about…a book that is nearing completion. You said, “Your trust and satisfaction mean a lot to us, and we are fully committed to delivering the quality you expect moving forward.” Why would we place another order when the first order was so poorly completed with regard to promises made? Here we have books that can’t be used for gallery submission to accompany expensive art work and summer along with tourist season has passed so the entire reason for the manuscript was lost. As for the projects I have, I’d like to use a publisher I can count on but I just can’t be waiting many months for the satisfactory execution of a project…you understand. Hi Patricia, I hope you're doing well. I wanted to follow up on our recent conversation regarding the printing of additional books and check in with you regarding your books as well to ensure everything is on track on your end. Regarding the previous issue, we received the final response from our shipping team. Unfortunately, due to the specific nature and structure of the product itself, they were unable to make further adjustments for that batch. That said, please rest assured that we are taking full note of this, and we will closely monitor and ensure that your next order is processed with total accuracy. Your trust and satisfaction mean a lot to us, and we are fully committed to delivering the quality you expect moving forward. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else I can assist you with right now. -- Kevin Kare, Sr. Creative Head & Publishing Expert MY RESPONSE TO KEVIN KARE September 10, 2026 Our relationship with Sparkleaf is apparently over… Kevin, Good to hear from you.
