Definitely not your old Sorrelli
I have had issues with the last three items I've ordered from Sorrelli. There is a noticeable decline in quality. Today's pieces are nothing like the quality of Sorrelli in its heyday. The customer service is horrible and the quality of design has also plummeted. I refuse to pay full price because the pieces simply aren't worth it. They're charging "heyday" prices for today's much lessor quality product. A small percentage of their new designs are decent and those are the ones I buy heavily discounted if I need something, but I would never pay full price. As for the last three items I purchased, the first was a delicate bracelet I was purchasing for a young girl but when it came I was stunned. It looked so cheap in person that it could have come out of one of those "gumball" type machines, that were at the entrance of every grocery store in the 1970's! It had some kind of adhesive overspray on the stones and the metal was incredibly flimsy looking. The second item was actually pretty but quality was again an issue. It had noticeably cheap looking, very thin metal under stones. The bottom of many stones, that were gray backed, were visible around the edges of the mounts. A bracelet purchased to match had same cheap metal and gray bottom of stones visible at edges of mount. The necklace was very expensive, even on sale, but Sorrelli was too cheap to put even that in a box. For what they charge, an actual hinged top container designed for jewelry would be appropriate but I would have settled for a well wrapped/protected piece in a cardboard jewelry box. I instead received this necklace in their standard sheer drawstring bag, all curled upon itself, metal rubbing against gemstones etc.... Of course, the largest gemstone in the necklace, the center gemstone had a scratch across it. I had to get "permission" to return for replacement of stone, print a return label, my printer ink for label and page to include inside return, wrap the piece properly, repackage and drive post office to mail to Sorrelli. The third item was earrings that were sent in the same cheap sheer bag. One earring had a very bent post, bent enough that I was afraid it might break off if I tried to correct it myself. Again, I had to contact customer service who needed an okay from a particular employee to begin a return. I had to wait for an email from said employee giving "permission" to return the necklace. I was actually given a return label for this one, as they couldn't figure out how to blame the damage on me, but waited 2 days for it to show up in my email. I wrapped the piece properly, repackaged it, and had to drive it to the local post office, where I waited in a slow and lengthy line to send it back. Sorrelli couldn't care less that they twice sent out damaged product, improperly wrapped/protected. My time and inconvenience was irrelevant. They skirted the issue when I mentioned the overspray of adhesive and visible gemstone backing showing at the edges of the mounts. In their view that was take it or leave it. They acknowledged the problem with shipping jewelry in sheer bags but continued to do it. With the lack of quality control, boring/uninspired design and atrocious customer service, I'm not sure how they're staying in business.
