Great service! Best price/performance I’ve seen so far, easy payment, easy upload, fast transcribing. Used it for German and English interviews - with both I had a massive time saving & not much editing to do.

I found the service by browsing on line using google search. I have two recordings from September, 1979, and May 1980 that I did at a family reunion with my grandfather who had recently come from Cuba and I hadn't seen him in over 20 years. The recording was low quality, at home, multiple people talking on an cassette tape recorder. I had converted it to digital format over ten years ago. I decided to try to transcribe and leave it for my daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. It is in Spanish so I first need to transcribe to Spanish and then I can more easily translated. This service has saved me hours and money. I still have to listen and edit but it is a much easier job.

I found Sonix by browsing online. It was one of the few transcription tools advertised in papers that did Romanian - and did it good enough for me to want to pay for the service. It transcribed fairly quickly.

I'm doing an interview-based PhD with most of my interviews on crappy online connections. I've tried Zoom's own transcription, Microsoft Office Online (both pretty crap for my application), and paid for Otter for a while. Otter was not awful but struggled with the poor audio and punctuation a lot. Sonix is an absolute bliss in comparison. It is slightly more expensive (as a student I pay about 10 $ month dep on usage) but soooooo worth what is essentially the price of a fancy beer. The output does require proofing, but I would estimate it to need less than 1/3 of Otter, which was second best. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. It's well worth the premium.

Highly recommended. Good pricing. Quick turnaround with pretty high accuracy. Easy to edit interface and encrypted transcription, so no NDA needed.
