Good users, terrible staff. You can usually find decent deals here, but you need to wade through the trash they’re paid to post. Pretty much if you see it’s posted by staff it’s a shill deal and you should move on.

Worst place. The moderators don't allow posting deals. They post what they like.

I've been a member of Slickdeals for over 16 years, and they have really gone downhill fast. No one is allowed to say anything remotely negative about the site or mods, or your post will be deleted or you will be banned. I commented yesterday about the decline of the site (nothing very negative at all, and I was polite about it) and they deleted my post and all the replies to it. The only reason why I knew there were replies was the green pop up messages when I enter the site, but when I click on the link to go to the post, it is gone. So I don't know what other SD'ers said to me about my post, but I have to assume they agree with me since their replies were gone also. Over a year ago, I got a "warning" for posting a link to another website that would save people money. The mod who "warned" me told me it wasn't an actual warning, but just a reminder to not post outside links on SD. The warning is still there on my account, and it looks like it will never go away at this point. That's what I got for trying to help the SD community. Gestapo moderators have ruined the site. I very rarely post anymore and after yesterday I'm done with them for sure. There aren't any "deals" on there anymore, they're all paid advertisements from Amazon, Walmart, eBay, or Target. The site is a waste of time now. Back in the day, Fatwallet was the competition for SD and kept them on the straight and narrow, but Fatwallet went out of business a few years back and Goldman Sachs bought out SD, they've turned it into a ghetto. So, after 16 years of contribution, thousands of posts and a high rep number, I'm done. I suggest anyone else avoid the site now.

Slickdeals are not slick anymore. Many deals on site are paid promotions.

Be very careful of the slickdeals browser plugins. They show you cashback and later refuse as ineligible. I made a purchase of 1700$ at adorama and used slickdeals with activate cashback. They recorded the click and classified it as ineligible. When I asked why I did not get any cash back, I was told that slickdeals does not have any promotions going on adorama. Clearly, the company pocketed all the referral bonuses and showed the middle finger to me. For the last several years, I have been using couponcabin and never had a single issue like this, especially a 1700$ purchase.

Banned people without proper warning or reason. Gave no chance to resume account for no reason. UI doesn't look good anyway.

Slickdeals used to be a great place to go and find deals that you may otherwise miss buy, lately, it seems Slickdeals has really become Shilldeals. Staff often push 3rd party sellers to the point that the same seller could be promoted 8-9 times in just a few hours, and we are talking about the same 3rd party sellers that Slickdeals staff specifically state goes against their rules (unless it's staff posted of course). New "staff" gain incredible reputation within the space of a week, Frontpage Deals are often put there with inflated votes from SD staff and moderators. As I said in the beginning, Slickdeals is no more. Welcome to Shilldeals, where staff and moderators are worse than your cheesy car lot salesmen, and get away with anything they want to regardless of the rules for others.
